Kevin martin traded to rockets

Why a team would EVER let that be added to a contact is beyond me. Players are assets, your assets shouldn't tell you what you can do with them. That would be like you wanting to sell a house, and the hosue says...yeeeaaah.. I'm not really feelin that. I don't think so.
It has nothing to do with them adding it to his contract. Lee was a restricted FA last year. He signed a 1 year deal. If he gets traded he loses his birds rights so the CBA has a veto clause on these types of contracts for the players so teams just cant trade them and lose their bird rights. Nate Robinson has the same thing.

According to Bill Simmons:
15. Tyreke Evans
The prototypical 0-guard: Someone who handles the ball all the time, looks for his own shot, gets to the rim at will and operates best if his teammates spread the floor to watch him. You can't call these guys point guards, and they handle the ball too much to be 2-guards. So they're 0-guards. Ideally, you want to surround 0-guards with spot-up shooters, one rebounder and a pick-and-pop forward who can make 18-footers.

Is there anyone in the league that fits this description as well as David Lee?

So say we get him..

PF - Lee/Landry/Thompson
C - Hawes/Thompson/Landry

Our PF position would be set. We have a "20 10" guy.. although I dont think we can put him in the same class that the 20 10 club usually includes.. 3 hustlers, 3 rebounders, and Lee/Landry can play man D.. all we would need for our front court is the athletic Center who can plays weakside D and our front court is set.. Also, we get Lee (assuming we lock him up) then I would assume Hawes doesn't figure into the future too much.

this sounds like Kingsfans.com trade!! lol
It's sounding like this David Lee trade won't happen because Lee would have to approve of it but why would GP even waste time going down that path if that was the case? Maybe GP knows something we don't?

If we can't get Lee its for the best it would a mistake to have to overpay for him, thats my biggest fear of having all that cap room this summer. We are bound to overpay for a big name role player who would be willing to sign here.

This agent thing is starting to pee me off. Woj is now saying if Tmac isn't traded to the knicks there will be "fireworks". And that Tmacs agent was made at Houston for trafing him to the Kings to begin with.

If we succomb to this pressure and get robbed here.. Well that would suck. This agent talking to everyone isn't helping, the knicks will probly lowball us now that they think were going to have to trade Tmac because of his agent.

Oh ok

If the Kings agree to give David Lee a contract of say $9 mil per long term, I think Lee would go for it.

He is a hard working player but also wants a secure contract like anyone else. $9-$10 mil for an all star 19 & 10 guy is not that bad. He's still young too.

Screw the agent. Even if he doesn't go to the Knicks, he will probably be bought out or waived and he can go wherever he wants. GP doesn't have time to deal with the agent right now. He only has 2:11 left until the deadline!!

9-10 million left on T-mac's deal. We probably received 1.7million from houston to grease the trade. And if T-mac wants to play for a contender, he shows good faith and suits up for a game or two like drew gooden, show people what he can still do, and if he wants we buy him out for 1/10th - 2/10ths of the money he is still owed. This saves the kings SOO much money, and Joey Dorsey went to Memphis like Tyreke, and CL is not a throw in, the rockets had to trade him because he was playing too well as a rocket and they didn't want to let him go for nothing because they were not going to offer him alot of money. This is about as good as it gets in todays NBA, bravo PETRIE!

It would be pretty awesome to get Lee and to extend him at a reasonable price. Especially if we can get someone like Aldrich/Cousins to play C next to him.

Joey Dorsey was a monster against UCLA in the final four game. He pretty much destroyed Kevin Love on the defensive end, I am a Bruin so I am pretty happy to get another tough guy like him.

Screw T-Mac and his agent. They're in no position to ask for anything. If we can't trade him by the deadline for something that works for us, then let them both sit at home an play with their "fireworks."

I could care less about the posturing of Tmacs agent. If we don't move him, we'll most likely buy him out. He'll get his option of signing with another team.

Also every player ever traded to sacramento that made more than 5 million dollars always made the "fireworks" comments, and it never really got to that point because, once you get here and talk to Petrie and talk to Maloofs and speak with Coachie and Reynold, if you still want to make a scene...well...the F.O. of the kings is made of some of the most respected individuals in the NBA, and if you did something to offend them or burn that bridge, believe you me T-Mac will be serving big macs before he plays another NBA minute at more than the veterans minimum.

Just a entertaining day every year, but this year is so much more fun to read about. Hopefully GP ends up winning this battle, if not oh well, we still got Landry:)
