We got work to do. If everyone who visits this site votes, Tyreke has a chance. It isn't who is the best or who has the most accolades, the fans decide who gets into the allstar game, and Tyreke is playing very close to an allstars level. Who is with me??

You can vote once every 24 hours, if everyone takes 5 minutes every day, we have our solution to the attendance problem and we get a national TV game next year.

I moved this to its own thread. I think the other thread, which was started in August, had run its course and this gives a fresh topic for discussion whereas the other was mere conjecture about a player we had never even seen take the court in the NBA.

Even if we very likely won't get Evans in the starting lineup, we can at least show our appreciation by getting him up there in the vote totals. That would be a pretty big accomplishment considering he's a write-in only. I've been voting every day starting last Monday. And throw in a vote for Gerald Wallace while you're at it. He's earned it. :)

Just remember not to vote for any other guard in the Western Conference. ;)
Exactly!!! Especially not Billups, Baron Davis, Brandon Roy, and Deron Williams, and for god sakes stay away from Westbrook and Mayo(CP3 will hopefully decline an invite). If we have the only rookie who makes the allstar team, that will say something, especially in the W.C.. Lets make this happen, and the sooner it happens the more momentum we gain. TNT will be coving who is getting up there in vote totals, and if Tyreke is getting an honorable mention on national T.V. it will help our cause even more. So the more you vote, the sooner you vote for Evans, will create more votes in the future. Get your family to vote too, make flyers, go to games, make t-shirts, lets get this accomplished because lets face it, getting Reke into this game would be the highlight of the year.

Sooner or later some israeli news gonna publish this to all israel so they will vote to Casspi.. Theres a BIG chance ALOT ALOT ALOT of israelis will vote for him too. :)

Haha whoops....I voted for Deron but I still put Tyreke in as a write-in, JT as forward, Kevin at shooting guard, and Hawes at center. :D Is it possible?! Can we have a 4 all-stars this year ;)

The all star system if so inherently flawed. It really means nothing except that you are a popular player and had a good year last year. It is too early in the year to really say which new players at an 'all-star' level. I would love it if Israel made a big push and got Omri in, it would be hilarious having a rookie backup sf beat out some of the vets.

I think that the all-star team should be voted on by the writers that choose the yearly awards like mvp, roy, coy, ect. But the nba loves hyping this and having people visit their site everyday to vote and really the all-star game is just for fun so let the masses vote for who they want to see.

Funny thing...I was voting and just considering this. This thread is about accumulating votes for Reke to make the All Star game. Now obviously that is not going to happen. No write in player is going to beat out Kobe and CP3. So voting for Reke is really just a matter of showing him some love and raising his profile. A good goal.

But I was thinking about the very real possibility that he COULD make the All Star team. Not by being voted in of course. But by being picked as a reserve. And rookies never make it to All star games. In fact LeBron not making it a few years back I think has permanently cast a pall over the whole concept -- if the greatest player in the world didn't make it as a rook, who is THIS rook to make it? But that said, here's what I realized: Reke has a legit shot.

Western Conference All Star caliber PGs, rough rank:
CP3
Deron
Nash
Billups
Parker
Ellis
Westbrook?

Western Conference All Star caliber SGs, rough rank:
Kobe
Roy

PGs = can't be done. No way can he outpoint so many established names unless he is up aroudn 24ppg by the time the teams are picked.

But with TMac out and Manu hobbling all year the next tier of SGs are 17ppg kids like Eric Gordon and OJ Mayo and 17ppg vets like Jason Richardson and Jason Terry. Reke has a legitimate claim to already be better than all of those guys, and the numbers back it up. Furthermore his numbers and Brandon Roy's numebrs have been nearly dead even all season:

Roy
20.4pts (.451 FG% .346 3pt% .813 FT%) 4.4reb 5.1ast 0.6stl 0.1blk 2.2TO
Reke
19.9pts (.457 FG% .282 3pt% .797 FT%) 5.0reb 4.9ast 1.4stl 0.3blk 3.0TO

You normally take 5 guards to the game. With the way the West is built it would almost surely be 3PGs and 2SGs, but I have doubts whether they would actually take 4PGs and only 1SG. And if there are two SGs, Reke is right there statistically wiht the #2 SG. If anybody gets hurt, it is he and Monta Ellis (who plays for a terrible team full of drama -- normally a disqualifier) who would be the next logical guys. Probably does not happen of course. But it legitimately could. He's putting up All Star numbers, and his versatility and that unshakeable PG or SG? question that lingers could actually play to his benefit if the West needs a SG.

Help me out, please. I selected Tyreke from the drop down menu of write-ins, but couldn't figure out how to place it on the ballot.

Thanks!

I think you don't havce to -- that's its automatic.

Also seems like they basically let you select 10 guys -- 5 from each conference and then add ONE write in on top of those 10 (I assume that's why they give you a drop down list -- to prevent multiple write ins).

Didn't work for me. I can select him in the drop-down list, but it won't let me vote, as it says I have not selected a player or some such.....When I add JT and vote, only the vote for JT seems to be counted (Evans doesn't show up anywhere).

the write in has never showed up for me either -- meaning at the end summary none of the stupid NBA2k10 portaits pop up or anything. I am just assuming its counted.

So now honestly, which of these players has been playing like an All Star?

Setting aside Kobe/LeBron, and the pure PGs who are not really comparable (CP3, Deron, Nash), some possible All Stars over the last 10 games:

Wade:
25.2pts (.421 .229 .747) 5.7reb 6.9ast 1.3stl 1.5blk
Reke:
22.8pts (.500 .292 .825) 5.6reb 5.3ast 1.3stl 0.5blk
Johnson
21.1pts (.426 .275 .886) 5.0reb 5.3ast 1.1stl 0.0blk
Carter
21.1pts (.405 .288 .836) 5.5reb 3.2ast 0.8stl 0.6blk
Roy:
20.1pts (.459 .342 .808) 4.2reb 4.9ast 0.9stl 0.0blk
Pierce
18.5pts (.476 .409 .875) 4.2reb 3.5ast 0.5stl 0.6blk
Jennings
18.2pts (.356 .358 .784) 3.3reb 5.8ast 1.1stl 0.3blk
Arenas
17.7pts (.387 .231 .761) 3.8reb 6.7ast 0.8stl 0.4blk
Parker
17.6pts (.477 .000 .781) 3.1reb 5.7ast 0.7stl 0.3blk
Rose
16.5pts (.459 .333 .833) 2.7reb 5.1ast 0.7stl 0.1blk
Billups
15.6pts (.378 .400 .886) 3.2reb 6.5ast 0.6stl 0.3blk

I didn't see this mentioned. you have to write in your vote for Tyreke.

These guys have surprised me this season. I did not think they would all be turning in all-star stats. Just a testament to their resolves.

I voted again today. Apparently Evans is now averaging 20ppg 5rpg and 5apg. This is impressive, but it is hard to get votes without the spectacular(see Vince Carter). I have to do this though.
Kobe
CP3
Deron Williams
Carmelo
Brandon Roy
Dirk
Nash
Amare

Those players are basically Locks. Evans can sneak in there at SG, but i am 100% sure that the coaches would have to put him there. But votes still matter

Billups, Durant, and Parker are locks.

Westbrook and Reke should be in consideration but thats a ton of gaurds.

Neither Billups nor Parker are truly deserving this year, and just may not be room. In the West you are talking:

Kobe
CP3
Deron
Nash

as locks barring injury

leaves 1 guard spot for Roy/Parker/maybe Tyreke/Billups, and it would probably be for someone who can play some SG
