Another 3 game winning streak brought Kings back to 0.500 and with a win against Pacers Kings can have a winning record in December which hasn't happened since the wheel was invented. Kings ae 8-8, 7-2 at home and very close to the "imaginary" 8th spot in the western Conference. Kings took full advantage playing triple "New", took care of business and if they beat Pacers they can prepare for the somewhat brutal schedule where Kings can surprise someone despite being injured over and over again.---------------------------------------------------------------------------
November 2009 will go in history as first winning month for the Kings since the earth stopped being flat and turned into sphere. Kings went 8-5 taking advantake on lots of home games and lots of crappy opponents but no one cares because you have to play the schedule the way it is. ANd the schedule was very easy - make no mistake about it - if you can put Kings and easy in the same sentence without using the word "loss." 3 consecutive games, Kings "stopped" their opponents below 100 points which hasn't happen since Cubs won the World Series. All in all things are good - really good.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Kings are definitely not a garbage team anymore and the evidence to support that claim is overwhelming. Main reason is the way that Kings are handling garbage teams these days with a routine, composure and relentness effort. A year ago we were the Nets and Knicks, we used to lose a game the moment the opponent went on a 10-0 run, we used to draw the 15pt plays in the last seconds trying to annoy fans more and more. Those things are gone. Now, we play with poise and composure that is a characteristic of a more experienced teams. We are the team with a 10-0 run, we are the team that sustains the effort and the team who lands the last punch. When you are able to consistantly beat teams on your talen level - you are on the right way.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
On the other hand - we are clearly overachieving which is scary considering that we are missing some important pieces due to injuries. Ending season @ .500 (unlikely) will hurt us big time in the long run. Sometimes progress that is too fast can have very negative drawbacks. in our case - a top 5 pick is crucial and we aren't going to get one. We can't attract big names, we have to slow down and do it gradually piece by piece and we need several more pieces to get us back where we used to be. We have many deficites that will become clear as soon as we hit the road and start playing above .500 teams.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Kenny Thomas - our new starting center - clear and dominant WTF moment of each and every game in the history of western civilization. Kenny has been "good" lately and he is being professional so I probably shouldn't dump on him over and over again but I will do it anyways to point out deficites that we have. He looked like a middle school kid next to Okafor. Obviously, our depth on this position equals the thoughts of Paris Hilton and on top of that we are injured but this should not be happening ever. Kenny can't really be undersized because to be undersized - you still need some kind of size. If Kenny was to start against some real center - he would foul out way before Spencer would be able to shoot 5 three pointers - which is really fast.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Our bench has been impressive relatively speaking because ot the level of the opposition. Different guys are contributing each and every night making us unpredictable and giving us options. Hipothetically speaking (because it will never happen), if we were healthy and we were able to find minutes and keep up the bench production - we would be able to beat "big guns" from time to time almos asuring us to finish the season around .500. Since neither is going to happen - we can enjoy the moment and hope that some GMs are watching because for the first time in a long time if not ever - we hve some flexible pieces that can turn into picks or players we really, realy need to continue this great development.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
If it would matter and if we really cared - we could say that we neat some sorry, depleted Hornets team. Only thing to regret is that we didn't beat them in NO in the beginning of the season where they weren't depleted and we were the better team. We did it really impressive sustaining their runs and hitting them hard over and over again until they did what we used to do last year - brought in Julian Wright and Hilton Amstrong. Basically if the opponent has a player playing significant minutes (Bobby Brown) and the same player was 3rd PG choice in the worst Kings season ever - how can you lose that game ? we dominated the game each and every way except shot blocking but that category should be banned since we never used it anyways.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
AWARD TIME
TDM went to Collison but it was insignificant as he was dominated but each and every Kings player playing on that position
LW-VC went to Thornton - I expected more but he was missing and missing...
JHA - Kenny Thomas
RA&1 - Bobby Brown. Can't believe that he is in the NBA
JAx/Walk award - Thornton again.
WTF moment of the game - Your starting center ladies and gentlemen.

Pacers are netx and they are mediocre going on garbage right now. I am looking forward to see if Evans gets to guard Granger at some point of the game. I am also looking forward to watch our bench vs their bench because I think that their bench is better than their starters. I think that we can get away with KT vs Foster matchup because both of them will combine for 15 rb and 5 pts and Kenny will have a rebound too. Not looking forward being torched by former GSW tandem. What concernes me is that Pacers shot the three very bad lately and every streaks end eventually.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Evans - have got to work on his shot to become unguardable
Noc - shoot less defend more
Hawes - best "big" man we have
Thompson - don't foul out and take that jumper
Green - solid
Udrih - "perfect"
Rodriguez - nice, very nice
Casspi - excellent
Brockman - might get his award. crazy effort every night + likes physical play
rest - mateen
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Pacers are 6-9 and 2-4 on the road. They have lost couple games in a row. They will see this game as an opportunity but so will we. If we can contain Murphy and Dunleavy we will win this game unles Granger goes for 50. Foster will most certainly get his usual TDM. LW-Vc will go to Ford. Kings go above 0.500 for the last time this season.
