Old ESPN article on Evans..

That's because two huge groups (not mutually exclusive) have left the discussion:

1) those who think the outcome is too uncertain to argue about, and
2) those who think there's no point in arguing about it anymore until there are some games to look at.

Deduct those groups, and you're down to a handful of posters. Neither side can win the argument, since there won't be any new evidence until October, all you can really do now is to troll (and be trolled by) the other side.

Feel free to grab a beer and relax in group #2! You've made your position clear enough, and it's going to be a while before anyone will be eating crow.
That's me at the present. Just sitting back and watching some people continue to make an @$$ of themselves by 'predicting' the future and basically saying that they have a better basketball mind than one of the best college coaches in the game.

I did.

I've always thought that Petrie is a dumb GM when it comes to trading players, but I also thought Petrie had been very good when it comes to evaluating draft talents. I knew he was going to be a lot smarter than people who easily fall into media's over-hyping of Rubio. And he was - he did pick Evans. Well, it was not only Petrie who picked smartly, but also Memphis and Oklahoma. I can still remember when a lot of people projected Rubio as lottery pick #2.
Although I was an Evans supporter way before the draft, I'm not going to sit here and say that I thought Petrie would take Evans. I started to suspect that he might a few weeks prior to the draft, when the Kings started to drop his name with regularity. But I would have been shocked if the Kings had drafted Rubio. I'm not saying it was out of the question, but when Petrie made the statement about not drafting any player that he had doubts about his ability to play in the NBA this coming season, it was no secret who he was talking about. Add to that, some of the tepid comments by Petrie and others after Rubio's workout. I noticed at big lack of enthusiasm in their statements and little or nothing from the Maloof's.

To be honest, I thought there was a good chance that they would draft Flynn. Considering the teams needs, and the fact that Flynn, though not perfect, is closer to what most would call a traditional point guard. Personally I think its what Evans did on the defensive side of the ball in workouts that swayed them. And, there's no doubt that the Kings need to improve their defense.

If I'm on the fence about anything, its the point guard debate. I'm not going to sit here and tell you that he'll be a great point guard. But I'm not going to tell you he won't. Its fair to point out what he appears to be capable of doing, or not doing right now. But its lunacy to say he's incapable of becoming a good point guard as though its a fact. Thats called a closed mind, and a closed mind hears nothing but itself. A closed mind is the antithesis of objectivity. Its hard to judge talent without being objective.

Ahhh, the logical Gary returns.. Here's the difference between you and Aries.. You, I can reason with. Talking to Aries, lovable though he may be, is like talking to a wall. Its like listening to politicians on the news with their talking points. They never respond to anything you say. They just keep repeating the talking points. Its not really his fault. He's just a victim of his inviorment.. :D
thats not true... im just so sure that i'm right this time..... when we were a good team we got lame draft picks so i didnt pay much attention to the draft. but we are a bad team now and were able to draft a good player so i did some research and i came to the conclusion that it is what it is and i am so going to be right.

its so black and white to me at this point that its crazy...

No i'm not much of a beer drinker but the commercials are hilarious. I like hard liquor, light beer is like water. That's why I drink it. I don't care for beer as a whole, it's nasty.

Probably haven't been introduced to real beer anyway, just like about 80% of Americans. No worries, it''s not your fault, it's a product of the environment. America is somewhat behind in the overall 'beer' market segment, as it pertains to the rest of the world.

Drink up me hearties, yo ho. Be it brew or grog it is all good.

Here is a clip of the rookies before the draft (from Terrence Williams flip cam video). Looks like Tyreke knew where he is going to be drafted (interesting segment from 4:45 mark in video).

I just discovered Jim Beam Rye, and I think it's a pretty good whiskey for the price (payed 12.99 for a fifth at Safeway). Since it's not made with corn, it's not as sweet as bourbon. I don't see a reason to drink vodka unless it's in a mixed drink, and let's just say Tequila and I no longer get along ;).

Boy, we've gotten quite off topic, no?

I could tell you a story about Tequila, TJ mexico, and myself when I was in the Marine Corps., but it would take too long. Lets just say that Tequila and I parted company for quite some time. After drinking half a bottle of tequila, and then following it with a beer. I stood up to go to the bath room. It was the last thing I remember. I woke up in San Diego in the brig starring at a chief petty officer that someone had thrown up on. I'll give you one guess who. I learned my lesson from that though. Always throw up on someone of lesser rank....:D

LOL thanks :)

I try to stay logical, but I know I get out of hand especially on draft night :D

That video was pretty funny. Terrence Williams might have the biggest lips ive ever seen. From the reaction of everyone on the bus it seemed like nobody wanted to get drafted by the Kings. Hasheem Thabeet made me lol at the end. If Tyreke gives full effort i think he'll be pleasantly surprised by the amount of support he gets from Kings fans. I know im keeping my eyes pealed for hsi away jersey. Is it being sold anywhere yet lol? Anybody?Anybody?Bueller?
