I know Im not alone in hoping that the interviewing of Rambis is part of a on going sick joke the Maloofs and Petrie are playing on Rambis for being a Laker and being a coach on the 2002 Lakers.

Sure some will argue that holding a grudge against a Laker is childish... but really??? It just seems like other than being publicity nightmare there's all kinds of reasons this should not ever happen.

Heres a guy that has had Kobe/Shaq... then Kobe/Pau/and Odom... This guy is a joke... you take Kobe off of any of these teams and the Lakers are nothing... even with Kobe their known around the league for years now as being the most selfish, under achieving, lazy, sorry defensive teams... I dont see what where all the hype is coming from???? The Lakers have had more talent than any team has seen maybe ever in the history of the game... but seriously can Phil or Kurt claim any responsibility for that???? NO!

Tom Thibodeau at least has been given credit for making postive changes to the teams he joins, by many different people... Like Rambis im not a big fan of cashing in on talent like with the celtics. But in comparison when was the last time... scratch that when have you ever heard Phil Jackson or anyone else say if it wasn't for Kurt Rambis the Lakers would have never have been as good as they were??????

Kurt Rambis is a nobody, has-been role player... that is a role playing coach...

Non of these coaches look like real winners... but Rambis??? did he do a awesome powerpoint or something???

Also If if teams never had rivals then what would be the point of having teams... The kings dont have a awesome history like the lakers but that was by far the biggest series this Sacramento Kings have ever played and I will hate the Lakers till the day I die... Hell No Kurt Rambis

LAST WORD... Rambis would leave this team at the drop of a hat to coach the Lakers when Phil leaves... Do we really want to provide the on the job training for this chump..(yes i know he coached for a few games already)

Rambis won't be filling Jackson's shoes. That honor will more than likely go to Brian Shaw.

I liked Rambis when he was a King. He's a class act; obviously you either don't recall or aren't old enough to remember.

I'd say its even as of right now as far as taking over for phil Jackson but If Rambis had a few years of head coaching under his belt he's the front runner for sure...

If he gets hired, I cant wait tell he bails out on us like SVG did a few back... then i'll laugh at all you clowns that thought... It was a good call... God hates the Kings... our Laker Head Coach ditching us for the Lakers would only seem like the perfect way to continue the from bad to worse story

Well, he actually had a very solid record with the early Kobe/Shaq Lakers in the lockout season--but that was a decade ago, and I'm not sure if he's still that good, or whether he just had superior talent in Kobe/Shaq to do the heavy lifting for him. I think he may need a chance, but I don't really have good vibes of him--just seems ordinary for some reason. Tom Thibodeau sounds much more logical.

again i've never once ever... heard anyone give Rambis any credit for anything... end of story... Thibodeau has many supporters around the league.

Dude, when you get to the point where you're quoting yourself, you really need to take a minute and step back... seriously.

And that's why Rambis isn't a good choice. I think GMs just want to interview him because he seems to be Phil's main assistant coach most of the time, and they see the Lakers' success and think that he might be a component of it. But that obviously doesn't appear to be true.

if the team is showing progress there is no reason for rambis to bolt on the kings.. especially with how the fanbase is so accepting and loyal of course..

and what him move to LA to coach an aging kobe? and probably an injury plagued bynum? we dont know how long kobe can play at his level hes going to break down sooner or later.. and rambis going back there to coach that.. it could be godawful..

the point here is that the lakers wont be as effective as they are right now... in 2 years. will gasol stay? will bynum remain healthy? will farmar sign again? what if they lose ariza... so many questions the key here is that kobe is 30 and when he hits 32 or 33 hes not going to be that much effective.. zen master has at least 2 more years in him.

i really don't understand the gripe kings fans still have with the lakers. we had one series where we had a chance against them, and so what if it has been our only chance, it has been so long that there is no reason to hold the grudge. I hate many lakers fans because they are so obnoxious, but i often find myself rooting for the lakers now because the kings are no match anymore. The kings will never be able to pull in the names that the lakers can so why hate on them?

If you don't have a problem with the Lakers, feel free to root for them to your heart's delight. But PLEASE do the rest of us a big favor and don't try and rationalize it. No offense whatsoever, as it's to each his own, but my choice of a team doesn't depend upon what names they're able to pull in...

I'm not dazzled by the name on the back. It's the name on the front...and if that name says Lakers, I'm not gonna be cheering for them.

yeah no joke VF... wtf are you taking about RIP M...???? cheering for the Lakers is a sin to start with but cheering for the Lakers because the Kings are down is called bandwagon... wow!!!

As far as I see it with the Kings short lived history in Sacramento the lakers are the biggest and about the only rival the kings have... GS would be my sec choice... but it was more than one series... it was Doug Christie Punching out Rick Fox... It was cowbells right next to Phil Jacksons head and ears... It was Shaq calling us the Queens and then workers at Arco Arena tagging on Shaqs 10,000pt ball (at least it was kinda like that)... it was a clash of the titans and was as high as we've ever been here in Sac... Webber and Divac still dont think it was just an avg series or rivalry

no way would i cheer for the lakers.. look to your left and look to your right in staples.. when kobe retires one of them would be gone.... and the other will be wearing a griffin clipper jersey...

I think you answered your own question. We'll catch you the next time the bandwagon comes around.

I'd like to give Rambis a shot. He has a good rep in LA, both as a player and a coach. We would probably go to a triangle offense so we wouldn't have to have anymore debates about the Princeton offense on this board.:p. He's tutored under one of the best coaches in the NBA. He's worth a shot. All we need is to get Rubio, put a Superman's cape on him, and then have Rambis don the horned rimmed Clark Kent glasses, and we're set to go...

As for him going back to LA when Jackson leaves, I doubt it. Kobe will be gone, the core will be older, we'll be on the upswing and the Lakers on the downswing. Why would he do that?

I am all for taking Rhambis as our coach, hopefully he learned some tricks from Phil Jackson. And I think our team can do pretty well in the Triangle esp with a good passing big man like Hawes.

Perhaps, perhaps not on the triangle thing. Phil has had tremendous success with that, but he's also always had Top 20 players in NBA history to key it. With our personnel who knows. And Rambis predates Phil too and has played under some other systems that were pretty successful in their own right...and also involved Top 20 players in NBA history keying them.
