I'm liking Scola too. He has been playing really well throughout the playoffs and he just got Fisher kicked out of the game. He annoyed the Lakers so much that they gave the Rockets three free point in technicals and fouls.

Kobe throat chop vs Ron's crazyness in LA.

Kobe throat chop wins it.

Rons an idiot for getting himself tossed, but this game has been called like crap.
I really hope the Rockets win in 6.

Well....Kobe does get away with elbow's constantly.

I'm getting some 2002 vibes from this game. Momentum was all Rockets, then the Lakers go to the line, Ron gets tossed....

I wanna see the Rockets beast all over the Flakers in game 3, 4, and 5....But if they do, Kobe will go to the line a Wade vs Mavs finals amount of times.

They have been calling all sorts of ticky tack fouls after the Scola incident. The Lakers already have like 8 team fouls. But apparently whacking in Artest in the throat doesn't count as one.

That was bull****, ron got tossed

I suspect they thought he was drawing his hand across his thoat in a "you're dead" motion when he was trying to say he got hi tin the throat (if indeed that is actually what he was saying -- would not put it beyond ron to use that gesture).

Fisher is probably going to be suspended, partly because of what has happened since that. Is that all that Kobe can say, "You can't guard me!" I have seriously seen him say that at least 10 times in the playoffs. I love Battier's calm demeanor though. He just does his job, doesn't do much wrong, and isn't really affected by Kobe's mind games.

Battier is mad classy. Its funny, him and Ron are like a good cop/bad cop defensive duo.

This game has been BS though. Rockets should be up by 3-5 right now, Kobe should be out. Ron should be beasting. Ah well. NBA basketball...Where bias happens.

Kobe is a ***** with a capital P.

That was a cheap shot on Ron and Ron was right to call him out on it. He shouldn't have been thrown out the game that fast. I fkn hate how the Lakers always get bailed out. Every damn game.

I didn't get the best angle on the Kobe elbow, but I hope they keep that Dwight Howard suspension in the back of their minds when they review it after the game.

Rockets on offense really need to post up Artest more than they have been doing so far. There is no way Ariza or Walton can guard him.

Is there a worst home crowd than LA, even after the drama they have been pretty quiet.

I hope so. Because at real speed, that was a truly vicious shot.
You could see Kobe licking his chops as he reared his elbow in for the hit.

I doubt Kobe gets any real consequenses. I really hope Ron doesn't try and take over the series for himself.

Why?.. because hes Kobe? that is such BS. After watching the review a couple times, a suspension definitely needs to be discussed. Not that I think thats the right call but purely based on the fact that Howard was suspended for the same thing.

There really is no way they are going to suspend him for that. It was definitely a dirty play, but I don't know if it ejection worthy, especially if your name is Kobe. Howard's was a bit different, it wasn't during the basketball play. I wish as much as you guys that he would have big consequences, but I don't see it happening.

remember the elbow by Artest to Duncan's head during 2006 playoffs?

Kobe won't be suspended, but they'll probably tack on a postgame flagrant 1, and hopefully after they see that it will keep Ron out of any real trouble.

Fisher is a lot more interesting case -- reminds me of the shoulder block Posey through a few years back against Chicago. If that's the appropriate comparison, then how long was Posey out? 1 game? 2?

Add in the Alston slap -- clearly not dangerous, but 100% intentional, and there could be some critical game 3 turning decisions made on suspensions.

The lack of a playmaker in crunch time has been the Achilles' heel of the Rockets all year and tonight was no different. Eight turnovers in the fourth quarter is not going to get it done.

Btw, the officiating was back to Staples Center standards and I'm not surprised that Ron got ejected. Yeah, it was a b**** move by Kobe, and Ron was dumb enough to take the bait and jaw back in front of a ref. Ron, if you need a call, you gotta sell it like Scola and get back to playing hard. Life isn't fair.

I want to slap Phil Jackson across the face for complaining about inconsistent officiating.. Dude! You're entire career is based on inconsistent officiating going your way!!!
