Kings took advantage of couple home games to start a winnings streak which will be short as they all were this season but it is still something. Kings continue to be up and down in this up and down season. After losing 7 of 8 games Kings came back to win 4 of 5 and the trend will continue. With 15 games left Kings are 31-36 which is 13th worst in th NBA or 8th best in the Leastern Conference. After playing in San Antonio and probably not winning Kings have a decent schedule with potential to win most of their following 7 games or get embarrassed by Grizzlies, Clippers and others. Last 7 games are brutal and we might even lose them all but knowing us - we won't because we are better than lakers.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
My short vacation did not mix well with Kings basketball. In transit I missed the blazers game. Skipped Suns game on purpose. Well, I was at a party and I figured - I might catch the 2nd half but I saw the half time score on ESPN and we were down by 73 points or so and I just decided to spare myself the abuse. Also the beer was cold and free at the same time so... Watched the 2nd half of the Raptors game and saw a #24 not named kobe torch us but they just didn't have enough. Last night I came just in time to see Kings beat Warriors just because everyone has expected the opposite. All in all Kings win more when I care less.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Rockets 22 game winning streak is already a 2 game losing streak as Rockets just got tired. I have never seen a team playing so hard every possession of each and every game. That is pretty much the only way for a team like that to win this much. A hall of fame coach, a star player and a bunch of has been, never was and never will be type of players have had a remarkable run that will be good for a playoff spot but nothing more. people have been mentioning their schedule and the fact that their opponents had injured players and bunch of other garbage. It is irrelevant. You don't win 22 straight games in any professional sport by luck and coincidence. It was fun to watch especially last Sunday when RA and Bobby just killed the lakers. Respect !
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Late in the season Kings roster looks like an all infirmary team with guys being banged up, hurt and little bit looking for long and "deserved" summer vacation.
Generally, You never want to question players when they are injures especially in Kings uniform because here the injuries tend to get worse exponentially id they are ignored but I can't help but wonder how much of this is mental. Losing is hard and every pain is much more intense in such situations. sometimes it is hard to get up in the morning. On other teams this epidemics is more severe but we might have some of those. Now some guys like Udrih and Hawes can't really afford to miss games but guys like Salmons, Artest, Miller could care less at this point. Now, I am not saying that they are making thing up and that they should play hurt because that is nonsense. However, I am saying that most of them would find the way to play if they were on a winning team. Obviously, ethics, sportsmanship and professionalism don't mix well but doesn't one owns the fans their best at all times ? Don't get me wrong - we are still doing well considering that the Heat rested their whole starting lineup in Canada where no one could see them.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
A.J. had a good game and I really don't find that positive or funny. He is an old guy with expiring contract and no future around here and there is really no valid reason for him to get all those minutes. I am sick and tired of Muss Junior desperately trying to win those meaningless game at this point of the season. Why just not let QD play those minutes and then if we win - great and if not - no big deal. We might be the only franchise playing against ourselves all the time. Well, they are Knicks too but they don't count.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Kings beat Warriors mostly because no one expected it and while people were focused on the Rockets and their streak - much better Game was played at ARCO and the better team won. Kings shot 58% and had assist to turnover ratio above 2 which is usually good enough. Still we let them come close towards the end but then we woke up on time. Starters played huge minutes and did well. I was hoping that Webber would play but did not happen
--------------------------------------------------------------------
AWARD TIME

Azabuike won the TDm but it was meaningless

S Jax got the LW-VC award helping us a lot. Ron had a lot to do with that

DC-DT award goes for all Kings players who gave it a go despite being hurt.

WTF moment of the game - Mikki's monster jam followed by years of therapy that the poor Warrior player will need once he realizes what happened to him.

Also in light of what is happening in Houston I am considering renaming the RA&1 award into Antoinw Walker memorial award.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Spurs are next and this isn't a good time to play them. They lost 6 of their last 7 and 4 straight and they play Bulls on the road before we visit them on their back to back. Basically Pop is sitting in that locker room telling them stuff in appropriate language and we have to expect them to play desperate. So I would settle for having our guys being healthy when the game is over because we will have Bowen and his understudy Udoka running around like crazy hitting people and looking all innocent. Hard to tell much about possible matchups when we don't know who will be able to play. Personally looking forward to Mikki vd Tim battle. Talking about an overkill here.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kevin - stay away from Bowen. Just run away - please !
Ron - he will play because the opponent is good enough
Beno - I am sure he would love to play this one if he is able
Brad - hurt
Mikki - finally on the other side of the poster

Cisco - need more
Hawes - get well soon
Salmons - will play
Williams - may even start
QD - let him play coach !

rest - mateen

Muss Junior - let the kids play dude !
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Spurs at 44-23 and 27-6 at home are not playing too well and will be looking for blood. Duncan, Parker and Flopibili will be as good as usual and the rest is there to fill the positions. We haven't been killed by Kurt Thomas in a while so he might get the TDM. LW-VC will go to Finley. Kings won't win this one.

no one cares huh ?

Even the worst NBA game has better quality than the best college game. Heck even the Euroleague is way better than the college crap

Agreed.

I can't stand any college sports.

And I don't think I've said anything about my hatred of the Spurs in a long time.

So GO KINGS!

You know - I certainly don't like Ron but sometimes he is just too good. Only player tonight that doesn't look scared on offense. Will see how long it will last

Theus needs to get Martin the freaking ball where he has space. Clear it out and let Martin go one on one with Bowen. And then keep going back to it. No way in hell can Bowen guard him with a clear out. Martin is frustrated because he's expending energy running around and they aren't getting him the ball.

come on now
There is so much more passion and talent in college ball, that every game simply goes down to the wire

especially in a game which ended 70-29 last night

As for talent - not even close since 80% college players don/t make the NBA

Passion maybe depending on what level they play - NBA playoffs are way more intense

Thank you. By the time Theus finally took Kevin out, the kid looked exhausted and totally demoralized. I noticed repeatedly he'd try to shake Bowen loose, only to find his own man in essence setting a screen that benefitted Bowen more than Martin.

First of all, wanna bet?

Second of all, like all great defensive teams the Spurs aren't just going to let you do that. There is always help.
He did beat Bowen plenty of times when they were isolated. But he just couldn't deal with the Spurs help defense, which should be a point of emphasis that Theus will have to make the next time they look at the tape.

Martin is clearly faster than Bruce Bowen but, as has been pointed out above, the problem isn't just speed. It's the Spurs defense PLUS the lack of court awareness by a couple of Kings who actually clogged Martin's lane more often than not. His shots weren't falling very easily BUT he was getting inside and getting to the line. The problem is he was expending horrific amounts of energy to do so...and this was the first game of a back-to-back...on the road.

Ok. But this is a regular season game, where losing would be best for our team.

So I'd rather watch that college game.

Sorry, I just don't understand that but then again - it is probably a cultural thing. In Europe - things are way different. You watch Your team - "for better or worse"
