After 3 games losing streak and 3 games winning streak - Kings are on yet another 3 games losing streak nicely alternating it or maybe even equal opportunity sucking. Kings drop to 26-31 and 9-21 on the road which is still where it was all season long - nowhere. We are 1-3 on this trip so far which is not horrible unless You really haven't watched us play all season long. Kings will finish the last long trip of the season in Dallas and after then it is all against the West except the home games against the Heat and the Raptors.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kings have not had great season but we have done a lot to make basketball more popular trough the nation. We have been very giving especially to "underprivileged" teams who otherwise would have no clue what a win is. We have done it trough the whole nation giving almost extinct fan bases something to cheer. We started in November in Minnesota, in December we gave the Sixers much needed road victory and also helped Denver break that nasty streak they had at ARCO. In January we gave Clippers a rare road victory. In February we increased our efforts by giving the Sonics a rare win on the road. We have reach our peak in the last couple weeks by allowing people in Memphis, Miami and Atlanta to feel joy of having their teams win a game for a change. In this selfish times when all teams try to focus on themselves - Kings have taken different approach and put themselves second . The program is called - "The NBA is ashamed that You exist - but we love You anyways." With still some games left vs Heat, Sonics, Wolves, Clippers and Grizzlies - King can add to the count.

Well, some two years after Rick Adelman wasn't needed anymore - we can say that the change failed miserably. Switching our "philosophy" to more defensive minded was profound. It should have been patented and put in the garbage can right next to the Microsoft power point. Neither Muss nor Theus have managed to teach this team even how to spell "defense." Not to even mention things like winning season or playoffs. Those things are nothing more but a wet dream for either one of both coaches. This season Kings are one of the worst defensive teams out there despite having some very good individual defenders on the roster. One of the best defensive teams in the NBA are the Houston Rockets. I wonder who is coaching them - well not really. Last night we scored 117 pts and shot almost 50% out shooting the opponent and taking better care of the ball. We lost the game. I dare You to try to find an example of such situation during the Adelman era. Take Your time.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kevin Martin is struggling as of late, not as much as it has been argued about but generally he was much more efficient before the 17 game break he had his season. 22.4pt, 4.7 rb 2.1a, 1.1 st with 44.3% FG for the season is as much as one can expect from a good player on a crappy team. Now, some people wants Kevin to be what he is not and they expect too much. On a good team - Kevin would possibly be an all star. On the Kings team - he is what he is and it is pretty good. He is a great Robin to a Batman that we don't have. Why he is slowing down as the season progresses - is hard to tell whether it is mental or physical thing but it sure doesn't have "everything" to do with his teammates or anything other than Kevin himself.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bibby vs Udrih battle ended up being a good - both guys being unable to stop each other. Both of them stepped up and played their best games of the season. Hawks won so Beno's performance was put in the background a bit but as far as I am concerned - that match up ended being almost even and it should have given us a great chance to win this one. We lost this game somewhere else. When was the last time that Bibby had 12 assists ? Last time - it was 2 years ago on March 1st 2006. In his Kings career he had 12 assists 3 more times times, and 14,15 and 16 assist once each all happening before 2004/2005 season and most of them between 2001-2003. Funny how playing for the Hawks makes You rediscover passing:rolleyes:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
I actually honestly believed that we would beat Hawks last night even when we were down big in the first half. i t had nothing to do with my faith in Kings ability as a team to win such games because - I have none. However, I had ultimate faith in Hawks ability to lose such type of games. At the end - i underestimated Kings capability to suck on defense refusing to make a stop down the stretch. We scored 117 pts on the road out shooting the opponent, We had the assists to turnover ratio better than 2/1. Our offense was good enough to put us in position to win but our defense wouldn't let us. Hawks scored their season high lead by Mike Bibby who had his best game of the season.

AWARD TIME

TDM - Josh Childress defended the title in an impressive manner

LW-VC went to Pachulia but it was a weak one anyways

RA&1 award went to Stoudamire. I don't know how many of those are in the NBA but this one is worst of all

Kevin won the JHA award for the first time in his career

A.J. gets the SAR - Methuselah award and honestly that can be renamed to SAR-AJ award since Methuselah has been known for thousands of years and deserves way more respect.

WTF moment of the game - all 10 minutes of A.J. playing time
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
As much as I believed that we would beat Hawks - I am skeptical about us beating the Mavs despite them being involved in a game in San Antonio right now and having to play us in a back to back situation after losing the tough one tonight. We might put a good effort and keep it close but at the end Dallas knows what is at stake for them and we haven't won there in a really long time since Pedja made that defensive stop on Nash in the 03/04 playoff series. We will have to guard Dirk with either Brad or Mikki and that is a problem that we won;t be able to slove.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Kevin - wake up kid !
Beno - keep this up
Ron - where is the defense ???
Mikki - will foul out hopefully
Brad - we need 20/20 tonight

Salmons - we need more
Cisco - light them up !
Hawes & Williams & QD need more playing time

rest - mateen

Coach T - You are not going to be 0.500 anyway - let the kids play !!!
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mavs are 38-20 but 24-3 at home which is trouble. They are way above our class and we shouldn't cause them much problems. They have lot of guys whocan light us up . Bass will win the TDM. Terry will get the LW-VC award. Kings will just be glad that this will be over so we can go home.

I agree, piksi. In times like this, I really appreciate your humor. Piksimism at it's best. Gallows humor could take a lesson.

Nice 5-star job.

I predict one team will score more points than the other, and that team will most likely win the game.

tip off in a little over 3 hours. any predictions?
I'll try a few easy ones.

We will not have a great assist/TO ratio, or grab 50+ rebounds.

We will not play amazing D.

KT won't be the only one looking listless and unhappy.

Dirk >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Mikki

Although the Mavs are tired from a back-to-back, I am not predicting a Kings win. If it were a home game, maybe. If it mattered, maybe. This game? No.

The Percocet I took (for a cavity, I swear) is taking effect nicely right this moment. Let me just say I'm feeling warm and fuzzy. Good luck tonight. I love you guys.

And we love you, Gargy.
Thx. :p Piksi and Slim, you don't have to say it. I KNOW it to be true.

Piksi: LW-VC went to Pachulia but it was a weak one anyways

^ Joel Meyers in a recent game vs ATL. "I noticed that one of the local beatwriters here refers to Zaza Pachulia as 'The Big Z'. There's only one Big Z in Atlanta -- Zelmo Beaty! Zaza Pachulia?! Please..."

It might have been a typo, too. He could have said "friends of kingsfans.com" since this is, in fact, the #1 Sacramento Kings Online Community.
