are you serious??? He basically carried his team to the nba finals last year. Did you not watch?

no. he sucks in the clutch, he is a really good passer though, but besides that nothing special
About sucking in the clutch, he leads the league in points scored in the 4th. He also locked up Kobe today in the 4th, as Kobe went 1-7 from the field late, and Bron also hit the dagger on an iso play against Kobe. He seems to have improved his shooting from last season too.

There's always a few posts that make one scratch your head...This seems to be one of them.

So tell me, who are the 10 players you would take in front of LBJ?

For me? It's a VERY questionable one person, and he's Dwight Howard.

My goodness, its threads like this that make me cringe. What if somebody from outside the board just comes by to check us out and our big topic is about how LeBron James, who might be threatening to become only the second 30-7.5-7.5 man in history, isn't Top 10 in the NBA? They'll think we're a board full of loons.

Yeah, I'm sure that's it.

We're trying as nicely as possible to tell you to take it up a notch. I don't like to be insulting or anything, but dude!

You're with a bunch of people who really know and love basketball. We ain't just some kiddie hoops board. You have to bring it and be willing to prove your points. So far, you haven't done much.

I'm saying this to explain why you're being the subject of so much attention. This is the big league. Don't come on the court if you can't play the game.

Oh, there's a VERY good reason I'm not a GM in the NBA but it's pretty clear you have no idea what it is...

First thing you have to do is take everyone over 31 off that list. LeBron isn't even in his prime yet, but he carried his team to the Finals single-handedly last season. He's only 23. And he's poised to average 30/7.5/7.5 a game for an entire season. Those are all things that not even Kobe has done, and Kobe will be slowing down when LeBron is at the top of his game.

He may be over-hyped, but I would never call him over-rated.

Maybe you could make the argument that Lebron James isn't the best player in the league right now. Maybe you could even make an argument for 10 players better or more impactful than him right now. But as far as looking toward the next ten years at who is likely to give your team the most success and be a top 5 superstar every year, you'd be hardpressed to look past Lebron James as the guy at the top of the list. The only players with a legitimate argument in my book to be a better choice is Howard and Chris Paul, with Yao a distant 4th and Bosh somewhere down the line in the top ten.

edit: removed last line because its a separate thought that wasn't drawn out properly and doesn't really add value to my argument.

I think all the hype we give him is not good for his game, and in that sense i'll say he's overrated.

Lebron is posting MJ numbers, and unless im mistaken, Michael wasn't praised untill he hit the shot on the Cavs, and eventually won his first NBA title. MJ had to suffer three Piston defeats before he was given all the credit.

My biggest problem with Lebron is that he knows how good he is. You can see it in his face when he makes big plays. Last night after the LA victory, he was looking around the arena as if to say "yeah, im that good." I wish he would have just given his teemates high fives and said "alright, great win, but we have a long way to go"

I want to see Lebron fail a few times first. If he overcomes those filures, then I'll say he is worth the hype.

Amazing how you can look at his body language and know what he's thinking.... you do realize that he's playing with one of the worst rosters in the NBA and that they made it to the NBA finals last year.

Kobe, Dirk, Nash, Duncan, and KG wouldn't be anywhere in my top ten.
So you have to do a top ten of the future list and a top ten right now list. And I'm pretty sure that your top ten right now list would include those five listed above.

I'd like to ask you to qualify that statement. Because, unless I'm reading it wrong, it's beyond ridiculous.

Yes, you are right. I was attempting to formulate an argument against the OP that James is overrated. I'd take him anyday of the week, now or in the future, and he'd be in my top ten in both lists. I should stick to making one argument at a time, as to not promote confusion. Ignore the last line of my post and I'll edit it out. It didn't come across the way I meant it to.

I completely agree. I won't say he doesn't have crazy talent, but I just personally don't like the kid. At all in fact.

Man i love LeBron and he is not overrated he might not be #1 right now but sure will in near future i personally think he is #1 in NBA but some say Kobe but Kobe has a better roster
