just trying to get your thoughts on this. i live in chicago, and last year there was this rumor going around that the bulls needed a consistant scorer and that they offered ben gordon for k-martin straight up, the kings of coure said no, they wanted ty thomas and bg. what do you guys think, i say k-martin is too far superb just for ben gordon

Definitely.. No Gordon for K-Mart. That really doesn't help us at all. I wouldn't even do Thomas, and Gordon for K-Mart. Not unless we got rid of Artest, Salmons, or Garcia. We have too many swings.

that was the same thing i was thinking i felt horrible, when i heard about this, but i knew geoff petrie would rape pax on any trade, thats why i didnt think much about it just tryin to get some input.

It's already been said: #1 Gordon hasn't proven himself and Martin has. #2 The Kings need a big and not another small shooter. Wallace is on some death spiral to oblivion so not him.

I think Wallace was suffering from Salmonsoffthebench'itus, or Gasol'itus. Seriously think he is unhappy where he is and it's affecting his production. the cure for that is a new team.. Not that I want him on the Kings or anything.

I wonder what would happen if Artest and Wallace were on the same team?

Gordon does not shoot a high percentage while KMart does. If the Bulls would get a low post presence then those shooting %'s may go up for those guys. They need an Artest more than a KMart. If the Bulls want to talk about sending Nocioni and Noah our way then the Kings may listen.

Kevein does not shoot a high percentage iether now that defenses are keying on him.

That said Kevin is better, and bigger, than Gordon (whom I have little interest in). I really don't like Gordon as a starting OG OR a starting PG. You are undersized every night or have a total non-PG running your team. Now could you go Gordon and Thomas for Kevin, with the idea that Gordon then becomes a major minute backup PG/OG behind Salmons and Bibby? Oh I suppose...but then what about Beno? What about Cisco? What about Gordon's ego?

Definitely not. The fact that Gordon's been benched should be indicative of his value. I wouldn't accept Gordon for Salmons. The only way I'd take Gordon in a trade is if the Bulls took back a bad contract, such as Thomas or Reef. Gordon and Smith for Salmons and Reef I would do.

Kmart's previous 2 years, he shot 47.5% in about 150 games, this year he's shot 43.5 % in 17 games. If you want to label him as a low % shooter after this small sample, that's ok but I'd go with the track record.

Ben Gordon shoots 43 % over approx. 250 games in his career, which included a career high 45% last year. That would be considered a low % shooter.

neither trade discussed in this tread would be good for the Kings, we doesnt need Gordon, maybe Tyrus Thomas but parting with Kevin Martin just to have Tyrus is too much...we can get more anytime in the future, even a proven all-star... but just to notice, Gordon was benched not cuz of his struggling.. he was benched the same reason Ginobili was and many others around the league and thats to have a spark off the bench, something like a nitro when ur team is running out of gas lol

Gordon is awesome off the bench. It's not because he doesn't produce as a starter, but off the bench he has been close to 30 pts per game on a pretty consistent basis. He is a awesome 6th man and if he continues to put up the # he is off the bench for the Bulls he should win the 6th man award this year.

Like I've read on here and can see since I watch a lot of Bulls games lately is that Tyrus and Noah don't get a lot of minutes. They do and they don't. Noah was benched do to some disciplinary actions the other day. Then Tyrus lit it up a bit with his athletism. The Kings could definately use Tyrus and hopefully can rid themselves of the other Thomas "K9". He is an athletic freak and can really run the court and get up there for slams.
Noah isn't bad either, but is no TT, he is sure a hustle player reminds me a lot of Anderson V. on the Cavs.

I was wondering if anybody here is interested in Luol Deng? I don’t want people to jump on me for this. I saw that this article on yahoo (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/rumors/...players-could-be-dealt-before-F?urn=nba,61426) and just wanted to see what people’s reaction is to him. Can we get him? Do we need him? Is he overrated? I’ve heard some great things about him. I gotta be honest, I haven’t really paid attention to him, that’s why I was asking.

Let me clarify what we are talking about.

1) Chicago offered:

Ben Gordon
for
Kevin Martin

We said no.

2)Then we countered with:

Ben Gordon
Tyrus Thomas
for
Kevin Martin?

Is that right?

If so, it makes an interesting case, and maybe makes some of the responses in this thread off point. Ben Gordon for Kevin Martin straight up is already rejected, as it should be. But now, Ben Gordon and Tyrus Thomas for Kevin Martin...

That's interesting. The overwhelming query being, how good is Tyrus Thomas going to be? If he's a stud...
