Difference is we actually got to see Wlliams in camp -- NBA camp. And while that doesn't mean a whole hell of a lot as far as bigtime NBA success, we did see that he could both rebound and block shots with the big boys.

And if we had a real player that we really used ahead of him on the current roster, then maybe you don't take this "risk". But all we've got are two aging superscrubs that can barely get into garbagetime in Mo and Pot. So this qualifies as a giant why the hell not?

Ages ago Taylor had a decent jumper....I think that puts him waaaaaay ahead of Justin's rebounding and shot blocking in Petrie's book.

Kenny Thomas is on the team to rebound, get putbacks, play decent defense and not turn the ball over. He's not out there to score - and seems to have lost the ability to do so.

Let's talk about what Justin Williams could do if he were in the NBA. Williams is going to rebound just as well, if not better than KT. It doesn't take a ton of skill to rebound. Just tenacity and athleticism. Williams will block a ton more shots than KT, but will probably turn the ball over more and be more of a defensive liability due to inexperience. On balance, I see Williams being about as productive as KT.

I understand that we can't just dump KT because he's got a contract, but I AM saying he's out there doing mostly a low-skill job. When that's all you need, Williams would do it just as well, if not better. I'm not saying we should start the guy, but I don't see why he needs to be a 13th man, given this team's DIRE need for what he can do.

NBA DL as a whole is much more talented than the conference he was in. It's not like all the DL guys are scrubs...

Let's see, I found an online statistics calculator that converts NBDL statistics into what would happen in the NBA...plugging in Justin's numbers now...it translates into....."DNP-CD"! Wow, wish we had that to fall back on. That IS exciting.

The whole league is made up of, basically, the NBA rejects who nobody wanted. It's not like they're scrubs? Yes it is, its _exactly_ like the whole league is made up of scrubs. It's like every GM in the league has looked at these players and figured "ehh, no thanks, we don't need that on the bench for dirt cheap." That's pretty much the definition of scrub to me. One or two of them might prove some people wrong and actually make a roster. Big deal.

Sorry but I disagree. Weve already seen that Muss will reward players who show well in practice. I think Williams deserves the chance to come back and see if he can earn some minutes. Muss already stated that he didn't want to let him go in camp and that it was a numbers situation. Given that Potapenko is marking time until his contract expires, it's time to give a shot to somebody that has worked hard and did everything asked of him.

So every second round draft pick, or undrafted player EVER in the NBA is a guy that every GM said "Meh" on too right?

Your logic is totally flawed lol. And that web site that comes up with the stats is a joke.

Brad Miller was undrafted, so was Ben Wallace...

Williams will probably get called up after the 5th, and knowing Petrie, not by the Kings. We'll see how well he does in the NBA.

Tonight: 14 rebs, 4 blocked shots...

You guys are right, but I seem to recall either GP or Muss (or both) saying that they didn't plan to have 15 - even though it's allowed.

With 14, we only have to have two on the inactive list. That would be Pot and whoever's ill or hurt. With 15, we've got to choose Pot and two others for the inactive list.

So... same question, more or less - which is really intended to prioritize our roster - add Williams and now choose two players (in addition to Pot) to go inactive.

Pot, Mo Taylor are no brainer candidates for the inactive list.

If we signed Williams it would probably be Price on the pine...Which is kinda a bummer because I like the kid, but Muss seems to be giving him less and less minutes anyways.

We did....But Petrie, in his infinite wisdom, decided to go with the great Mo Taylor.

Williams is pretty much up for grabs, starting on the 5th I believe, as thats when teams are allowed to sign players to 10 day contracts.
