in no way did i suggest everyone else was playing like All-Stars while Bibby was playing so poorly that we were still behind.
i wasnt accusing you of saying they played like all-stars either

it just kinda ticks me off that people still find reasons to bash players after WINS and when that particular player who is getting bashed practically pulled us out of this one
yes, he wasnt alone...but, he was the main guy because none of us would be here talking about a W if he missed just ONE out of those 3 consecutive shots he made

I am happy we won ... but I'm frustrated that people are jumping up and down for Bibby, but Shareef gets barely any mention.

It's been Bibby this and Bibby that ... but barely a whisper of Shareef or the fact that we looked like a team going into the post. It's not about Shareef ... it's about the fact that I've been saying these things for a while.

It's the fact that after a big game someone gets a "ANY QUESTIONS" thread ... but not Shareef. Not KT. Not our big guys that people are down on for no apparent reason.

These guys can deliver.

I guess I'm just PMSing.
You've actually made it very difficult for people to even like SAR, let alone consider giving him an "any questions" thread. As far as that goes, since I generally start those and I haven't watched the game yet, I'm really bleeping sorry.

If you would quit telling us how to worship SAR, perhaps we'd be a little more appreciative of the job he does. It's awfully hard to remain objective about someone, however, when he's always being hailed as the greatest thing since sliced bread.

My opinion is that Bibby really, really struggled in the first half especially, and the team actually played better when Price was on the floor. The team as a whole played pretty well in the first half and was even wiht the Jazz, so yeah, it was kind of a matter of Bibby being singled out because most everyone else was playing well.

The third quarter was just terrible for everyone, and Bibby and SAR came through in the 4th.

That's how I saw things.
Thank you. If that is what happened, then fair enough. :)

I can see that Reef had a great game. My point is why was Bibby's horrible play being singled out when the whole team didn't seem to play well all throughout the game except for, as you said, Shareef.

I don't want to argue or anything because I did not get to watch the game. It's just very curious as to why Bibby is singled out. It sounds like the whole team was playing well/ok but Bibby's been dragging them down.
Bibby wasn't the sole reason, but he was playing selfish ball and chucking shots. But, he wasn't the worst offender. The whole team looked out of sync, including our budding star Kevin Martin.

I'm almost inclined to believe that your last sentence is the only part of this post that isn't a joke.

Shareef gets his share of compliments around here. I've seen 'em. Hell, I've given 'em on occasion. Even tonight, just a short while ago, when I foolishly gave credit for this win entirely to Mike, several people chastised me for not giving Reef his due.

I agree with Roman though -- the fact that the 2nd Quarter was very effective with the ball going into the post to SAR is not getting enough credit on the board. We're all glad Bibby had a fourth quarter and looked like himself, but if the lesson from thsi game is that Bibby should continue hoisting outside jumeprs and that the ball shouldn't go into SAR in the post then I think the team learned the wrong lesson.

I don't care about SAR as much as you think.

I'm a fan of a style of play. I like post play. We've got two post players that are rarely used in the post.

If our post player was named Carlos Boozer, you'd see me posting the same things about Carlos.

My fear with Bibby hitting shots and all of us getting giddy about it will reinforce bad basketball. It's ineffective and inefficient. It's like negative reinforcement.

I think if you have time to go back and reread the game thread, you would notice that until the 4th quarter, people were mostly DOWN on Bibby. Most of us have players that we like more than others. We get "touchy" when that player gets too many negative posts and not enough positives. That is natural. You prefer SAR. Not everybody does. The positive thing is that we are all KINGS fans. In the end, isn't that what REALLY matters?:D

I'm torn - do I read the game thread first OR do I watch the game? I got home really late so I purposefully stayed away from the board and was very careful NOT to even check the DVR to see if the game was over yet.

Unfortunately, my daughter called me to celebrate the win, so I know the final score...

Heck with it! I'm gonna turn on the game AND read the thread!!!

Whooooooooo!!!

Here's all you need to know from the game thread:

Booo Bibby. Boooooooooo Bibby.

HOORAY BIBBY!!

This team goes where Ron Artest and Mike Bibby take it.

Kenny and Brad do not fit into Musselman's gameplan. Don't know if that will change but as of now they look like they don't belong.

We started to protect the rim better at the end, the rotations actually looked solid. Bibby carried us to the win after he nearly carried us to the loss to start this one.

Very proud of the effort and hopefully this brings some confidence back to these guys. They didn't give up and dished out a little revenge for the last meeting. Deja vu anyone?

I don't remember Roman ever telling us to take SAR as a deity. In fact, I can even remember him admonishing his play from time to time.

He's never admonished his play. He makes excuses for it. His idea of "admonishment" is "I don't know why Reef just keeps on unselfishly blocking out letting everybody else grab the 20 rebounds he could easily have otherwise." And one topic apologists can hardly make excuses for other one topic apologists.

This is 1) untrue, 2) unfair and 3) unseemly. It's a lot of "uns" for one post.

 NO NO NO!!!!! Fast forward THROUGH the third quater. You really DO NOT want to see that part.
Ohhhhhhhhhhhh.

I was starting to get very worried. The third quarter isn't very pretty...

So I go to the FOURTH QUARTER, right?

I can remember times when Roman has admonished Reef's play. In fact, the hand full of Reef fans on this board have all admonished Reef's play when it has been deserved. He played solid tonight and you got to give credit where credits due.

See what happens when reef plays more than 20 minutes?
He deserved the A.
Bibby, i dont know why every1 wanted him to be traded?
You've got the chicken and the egg reversed -- like most benchers, the only time Reef plays big minutes is WHEN he's going good. Hence of course big minutes = big production, because if he's having a bad night, he's not slated to get big minutes. Its a pattern that applies to just about any player without a guaranteed 35mpg role on a team.

but yes, he deserved the A. Played a strong game throughout.

I'm taking this game with a grain of salt...yes it was a good, clutch win...but nothing changes overnight. This team is Jeckl and Hyde still, you never know which one is going to show up...the 'Chuckers' or the smart, organized team. It WAS a good win, nonetheless.:)
