Fans are lining up and camping out for Playstation 3

I just dug out my Nintendo64. I'm going to play Dragon Warrior again...

I actually like the "classic" look of some games over the graphics-intensive stuff they offer nowadays. It used to be, IMHO, more about true game playing and less about pretending to be part of the game.

And when I get done with Nintendo, I may just grab the Atari2600.

:D

Colicovision rules all. :p

OMG. You're right. It was Colecovision vs. Cabbage Patch Kid that year. I remember - we couldn't find either for my daughter so we ended up getting a BallyArcade. Great graphics and had a portable keyboard so you could enter basic code.

My favorite game back then was Wizards of Wor.

My favorite game of all time. Sure fancy graphics are cool, but all you need is few simple sprites, annoying sound effects and you have the greatest game ever :)

To stay off topic, next shipment of Wii is supposed to be on Tuesday.

Did You rob a museum ?:D

I'm just fine with the plain-old Atari game consoles from the late 70's-early 80's. Give me Pac-Man any day. And now they're selling them on those joystick consoles so I don't have to raid a museum to find the old, full Atari consoles. ;)

I camped out for like 43 hours and got a PS3. So what? I wanted to sell it and make a nice profit, but since the prices went down like crazy, I'm going to keep it until I can sell it for the price I want.

Well, maybe - if you consider my hall closet a museum. I have the above-mentioned games, I have the old Pong somewhere - it might be at my Mom's - and I have Sega Genesis.

There's an Atari 400 in there, along with a Vic-20 and a Commodore 64 (that I bravely boosted to a 128). And, without exception, every single unit was purchased for the sole purpose of playing video games.

:)

^ Good job for sticking it out there..
agreed I don't think I'd camp out there although I do think it is a good idea to make a profit if possible by buying one immediately. My friend preordered his PS3 so he was able to pick it up at the post office on the same day that everyone was waiting in line. Therefore, when those next-gen consoles come out-the PS4, the Xbox 900, and the Nintendo Yay?- I'll preorder them so I can sell on ebay!

By the way, I saw one on ebay the other day that had 6 bids on it and was priced at 3 million dollars... too bad, either ebay canceled the auction because the buyers were paying a little too much or the auctioneer took off the auction. Anyway just thought it was hilarious to see a gamesystem selling for 3 million dollars.:D

there are no games I want for it yet besides Resistence, I'll wait for a long while before I dish out the cash, hopefully by then the price will decrease a lot.

The game I do want MGS won't come out for another year or so, so it won't be on my mind.

I went to Costco tonight to buy trash bags and look at low end HDTVs to save the life of my projector. Lo and behold they had about 5 PS3s sitting by the checkout so I grabbed one. Haven't decided what to do with it yet but I figured I better grab it and make that decision later.

You know, I make a pretty penny. I mean, I do alright for myself.

But ... I never would have thought a $600 gaming system would be considered an "impulse buy".

I'd call it more of a semi-impusle buy. It was on my radar but not a priority since there aren't many games out. I'd have bought it sooner or later (even asked for it for Christmas figuring my dad would never find it).
