Game ball to Mike Bibby. As disorganized as he looked at times it is always sweet to see Mike take a game on his shoulders. Don't know which play was more spectacular, the fall away Hail Mary from the corner for an unbelievable 3 w/ clutch written all over it or the stutter/stumble penetration drive w/seconds to go and the quick no look drop back pass to KM for the kill. Bibby created that winning shot for Kevin.

This was a great win in a very tough arena against very good team w/ very good motion offense. Wow!!!

I think this may have been the best game martin has played in a long time... too bad i missed it. Will hopefully get to see a replay or something of it later on. Hopefully he can continue this amazing play...

so this basically means he's dead, right?
everytime i open this page and see this post, i can't help but chuckle a little. LOL

:p

and i must say, brick always gives good grades. i just have to give kevin the A+ he made me really happy! :D B- for Artest. the selfishness and 1 on 1 got really annoying for a while there especially when he was 1/7, 2/9 or whatever it was.

Disagree with SAR's grade. I think that he actually rebounded well for the time that he played, but should have been more aggresive. I'd give him a C.

Everything else I agree with.

hey! :(

hehehe...

and SActownkid iss right though...

this team is a whole lot tougher than the kings in the past...

but this teams offense sucks more than any other recent kings team in the past

:p
The offense will come. Heck you have the same starting 5 as you did last year for the most part, but now with a nice Defensive backbone. We are going to be good if we keep up the D, the offense will come and much less TOs in the future.

Agreed. And I thought MAYBE just MAYBE he would improve after playing, er, practicing with the USA team all summer, but apparently not..
Well, Team USA plays a lot like we do. Run around and jack up garbage that you never should have shot --- so you'd think he'd be used to it.

Seriously though ... I think Miller has improved over last year. His shot will eventually fall, and if it doesn't ... who cares? We've got 4 legit scorers on this team that can probably get 20PPG. Bibby, SAR, Martin, Artest.

I like what Miller's trying to do defensively and, to a lesser extent, on the glass.

Problem is - Muss might be asking too much of the guys right now this early. Miller is going to wear down if he plays 40 min a night on both ends.

I think that's one of our team's issues. Most of these guys are used to playing on one end of the court and they're wearing down.

Not sure I can agree with Ron's grade -- that shooting was really ugly, and he actually let Luol Deng get the best of him on offense for most of the game.

Of course, maybe I just feel that way because my DVR chose the 4:00 minute mark of the 4th Quarter to stop recording the game. And yes, I'm angry.

The last 4 min was the best part of the game for Ron and yes Deng had an outstandin offensive night but it wasn't like Ron was guarding him all night. We had alot of switch offs which is great because we have gotten alot better at that. Deng just benefited from all the drives to the basket because he moved.

FYI about Mike and his 11 TOs. After the game, they talked to Coach Muss. He said Mike's wrist is clearly bothering him and the coaching staff needs to take the blame for a number of those turnovers. They said they had to keep Mike in the game, even though he was tired, because they thought he was the only one who could get the job done at that point.

Anyone who just looks at the stat line is doing Mike a big disservice, IMHO. He showed his heart, his hunger AND his leadership by sticking out there and getting the job done. That kick-out pass at the end to Kevin was HUGE!!!

I have nothing against Bibby. I have everything against who ever allowed him to play in the first place. If it is bothering him, why risk even more serious injury and losing Bibby for longer time?!

I think Muss knew we had to get 1 win on this road trip. This game was a good chance. i think Bibby will be around 30 min tonight no matter what.

If it does happen, it shall indicate something reasonably serious, which does not bode well for the next few weeks. 11 turnovers is of course uncharacteristic, and injury is quite likely the major reason. Hope he recovers quickly from it.

The other players (Cisco, Price, JS, not to mention QD, who is not even on the active roster) have obviously not earned Muss's confidence, particularly at playing PG. Hope Muss develops some confidence in them, and soon. Going into the season, the frontline was the big question. If this persists, the backcourt too shall become a major issue, particularly if Bibby is out, or plays limited minutes.

Also wonder how Martin's game shall be impacted if Bibby is out. Haven't been able to watch any games (live in bay area), but from PBP and some comments, observed that Mike and Martin are developing some nice chemistry, and Mike is able to find him for some easy ones from time to time.

Martin should still have a good game. As long as he plays his style of ball, he'll do fine.

If he does an Artest ... then he'll have issues.

11 turnovers is also indicative of a team that hasn't come together yet.

Don't read too much into Bibby's sore wrist OR his turnovers. Instead, look at the end of the game and what was accomplished. When you snatch victory from the jaws of defeat like that, it really can do good things for team morale and chemistry.

I've mentioned the "trust" issue before. In the next few weeks, as the players get to know each other's game better and have more actual game-time experience, the turnovers will decrease.

We needed the win last night for a lot of reasons. We got it... a win tonight would be icing on the cake. Either way, the Kings play the Bucks and then head for Arco for 4 games. That will help them more than just about anything else. ARCO THUNDER also cures a lot of ills.

:D

GO KINGS!!!!!
