2006 Vegas Summer League (merged)

I smiled as well when I read he was impressing with his game.. he's gotta make the team.

Kevin of course is balling like Jordan. :p

Amundson doing well...

I hope so, but that still wouldn't solve our lack of interior defense.
Uh, obviously not, but like I've said, it's a step to gathering it and going in the right direction. Nothing like potential young talent either. Were obviously going to make moves for guys in the league, as well.

Petrie/Muss aren't ignorant towards that.

Agreed^

Don't be so pessimistic. Isn't it just nice to hear about a potential King who is dominating the boards and blocking a bunch of shots?
Oh its definetely more than nice in my opinion, it brings music to my ears. Its also weird to have blocking and dominating the boards being applied to sacramento--it makes for a nice change.

It's summer league; keep it real.
Oh, I'm keeping it real. The guy I was hoping the Kings would get via a trade into the 2nd round or UDFA is now officially on the Kings Summer League Team swatting shots and grabbing boards against current and future NBAers. Wouldn't this be the thread to voice my excitement about that?

don't give up fellow optimist it is ok to be excited about what you see in summer league. Alot of vets in here will always say "Its only Summer league" and they are right but that doesn't mean it will not translate into the NBA. they said the same thing about Martin last year when he tore it up. I also imagine it was said about Garnett, Jordan, Duncan. Everybody plays summer league but, for some reason we are not supposed to get excited if someone we like is doing good.

So don't loose your optimism and let the ones who have to find a negative in anything have their say.

eeehhh lot more to say about this but oh well.

Final score is 90-83 (I think) with sacramento the winners. They have some info on how Douby did and more on Williams at DraftExpress. Amundson did well in the 2nd half as well.

hammystyle, I don't have any problem with you being optimistic or excited in this or any other thread; what I have a slight beef with is you trying to tell people that they can't be pessimistic.

Anyway, it's not like not being excited over a summer league game means that I don't want the kid to succeed as a King. Some people just aren't "glass half full" type of people, and/or don't have it in them to get excited about this kind of stuff; I want the kid to do well in Sacramento, but the fact is that he's unproven on the NBA level, and I can't bring myself to be excited about what an unproven kid does against largely unproven opponents in what is essentially a pickup game.

It took me a while to warm up to Martin. It took me even longer to warm up to Garcia. And, even if this kid has the goods, it's going to take me a while to warm up to him, too.
