What is TDOS?

A common abbreviation around here is TDOS. One of the most frequently asked questions is what is TDOS. The simple answer, of course, is The Dreaded Off-Season.

The real answer, however, goes a lot deeper. So, in an effort to help the newer members of our community, I'm going to give some more definitions.

What is TDOS?

TDOS is a time of remembering. A time to look back on the season just past and begin to close the book.

TDOS is a time of renewal. A time to let whatever anger we may have had in the past season die and a time to polish those purple-colored glasses.

TDOS is a time of hope. A time to look forward to the new season and remember that the Kings are undefeated in 2006-2007.

TDOS is a time of faith. A time to trust that Geoff Petrie and TPTB will be able to work some more of the magic we've come to expect from them.

TDOS is a time of joy. A time to celebrate that we are fans of the Sacramento Kings.

TDOS is a time of camraderie. A time to enjoy being a Kings fan and getting to know old and new members of the #1 Sacramento Kings Online Community.

TDOS is a time of realization. A time for the players, both old and new, to begin to realize that they're playing for the most loyal fans in the NBA.

TDOS is a time of growth. A time for the coaches to work with the players to strengthen their skills and help them develop new ones.

TDOS is a time of gratitude. A time for us to thank our board owner, Jeremy, for another year of Kingsfans.com.

So, there it is...

The real definition of TDOS.

GO KINGS!

there should be a definition of TDOS on wikipedia or something
TDOS, as far as I know, was coined on this very message board. We don't have to post a definition elsewhere; people should have to come here, to Kingsfans.

;)

Thank you VF, we don't use that at the BMF, my main hub, so I was about to ask and look like a stupid newbie :) I appreciate the empathy, I knew you were a mod for a reason!

hey VF, we should turn this thread into another TDOS time-killing thread, much like the "best all time" polls. it doesn't need to be a contest--though i suppose it could be--but we should all kinda write what TDOS is to us, similar to the style in which you started the thread. could be fun.

Well, I suppose...

I was thinking/hoping the thread would counteract a lot of the negativity so prevelant around here right now. My thought was that by starting this people would remember there are things to be upbeat about; the sky isn't falling and the world isn't coming to an end.

There are already SO many +1 threads.
