Fox Watch 2025

Fox is also doing the thing that he did when Tyrese was on the Kings where he played so incredibly passive at times that it was detrimental to the team only instead of Tyrese Haliburton he’s doing it for 40 year old CP3 and Stephon Castle.
That passiveness is the infuriating part. Glad that's SEP.

maybe things have changed but players were singing the praises of the interim coach including CP3. Becky Hammond could get that call too if Pop retires. There might only be one or two jobs open in the whole league this offseason
Spurs fanbase absolutely hates the guy and calling for his interim head from what limited stuff I've seen.

I got the impression things with Becky's 3rd Aces season were anything but roses. Not sure if she is still above some of the other female coaching candidates to break the glass ceiling on this one.

I really do wonder if Fox's love for Brown is genuine or all part of the act. If no Pop and it wasn't a charade you would think he might be a front-runner if he isn't happy to sit at home on the couch and count his Kingsbux. On the other hand would Fox really want a guy chewing him out game after game to the SA media when he is Robin at best on his new team? I don't think so. Could be an interesting dynamic. But one that I am here for since it means it would save the team some money. If he wanted some of his assistants under contract maybe we could even get the Spurs to let go of that draft swap (pipe dream but let me have it!)

He's spacing the floor

I tend to believe Fox when he said he didn’t want to play for another coach. He said at the time of the Brown hire he wanted to be coached hard and he said nothing changed at the end when he was on the way out. I don’t think the Spurs will hire Mike though. If Pop doesn’t come back and they don’t care for Mitch maybe they go get my dream coach in Memphis. I definitely do not want that to happen because I think he is going to be a great head coach.

Fox’s 3pt shooting numbers are so bad this year. He shot 35% in November, but aside from that he’s shooting 30% or worse each month. Kind of mirrors his career… 2 season above 35%, all other seasons 32% of below. Westbrook was a bad 3pt shooter but he didn’t put up nearly the volume Fox does.

LOL Fox. Would be incredibly awesome if the fan base there in SA starts rumbling in social media and then Rece starts correcting and responding to them as well and the fans turn on him.
I think the fans there feel like they got him for free right now and that the finger surgery will fix everything. I assume he'll enjoy a nice honeymoon until the extension kicks in.

Were they supposed to feel different, though? I can't imagine that many Spurs fans are continuing to labor under the delusion that they were still going to make something happen this season after Wembanyama went down.

I'm simply saying I don't see any buyer's remorse being remotely possible unless things aren't going well in the 26-27 season.

I think if that pick is in the 10-20 range it will change the perception on both sides. I didn't think that was fathomable a month ago but if this Wemby thing is not just a precautionary measure who knows?

I understood what you were saying. I'm saying that I agree with you. I just happen to agree with you from the "pro-Fox" camp, so that whereas you may (or may not, I don't know) have been saying that with an underpinning of salt, I was being earnest.

I loved the dude, my relationship with Fox is going to be complicated for probably the rest of his career. It gives me no joy to watch him or even see still photos of him in another uniform so I am avoiding them. My loyalty is to the Kings and forever will be as long as I am a fan of the NBA.

So I'm not really on here posting schadenfreude about how much I enjoyed him having a bad shooting night, but I certainly am rooting for the wheels to fall off the Spurs in 26-27 so the Kings get a killer draft pick, and I guess I would be pleased over the long run if Fox turns into more of a journeyman than a superstar and if he gets a max extension that the Spurs wind up regretting it and they never jump Houston or OKC. In my deepest fan fiction, I hope some day he realizes that he passed up the chance to be the owner of Sactown because he was persuaded the grass was greener somewhere else.

I don't want his finger to fall off, I don't want anything to shorten Wemby's career, I just hope that maybe someday he'll realize he had a special thing here and a fanbase that adored him and a team that did everything to give him the opportunity so that they could pay him 35% of the salary cap and at the end of the day the main reason that didn't happen wasn't because the Kings failed but he did.

Lol. Fox couldn’t shoot before the finger injury. If the SA fans think it’s the finger injury causing Fox’s poor shooting, they are in for a rude awakening. LMAO. :p

So what we're saying is he has trouble playing with other guards that play his same positions
