There's considerable money to be made by signing a 5 year vs. 4 year deal including the fact they can increase next year's salary in an extension. Spurs fans that think because they have money coming off the books in 2 years they will be the only game in town are funny. Granted Fox might have urgency because he may not be the only PG looking to go there and hell maybe San Antonio will be in the driver's seat.
Honestly I am not sure that Fox and Wemby is my dream pairing but San Antonio seems to be at least invested in entertaining it.

That's the thing, how is this the FO's fault? It's been talked about since Fox turned down that extension before he was one foot out the door. This reeks of Klutch just waiting for Monte to even talk on the subject for Pauls plan to start a media onslaught to put pressure on the Kings to move him ASAP. People are acting like this freight train wasn't headed directly to where it's at now. Better to move out of the way NOW, not later. Originally waiting until summer was the best call, not anymore. The Kings will only lose value if they hang on at this point. Even if it's a rental for a team, 1 1/2 years is better than just the 1.
Castle has potential. Personally, I think the Kings already got a better guard in this last draft. Honestly, they can keep their young talent IMO if it's comes down to it. The real get are those picks and the Spurs can easily throw out plenty of them. Sochan is obviously interesting, but the issue is with any other player out of Keegans draft class, flexibility >>> decent talent that is either being paid, or has to be paid at the same time as Keegan. I'm not sure Sochan is anywhere near a rookie max, nor is Keegan potentially, but it could stuff your cap up in a hurry when you want to be able to wait and see and then strike when you're the team star hunting via trade.
They are a basketball power couple. She is clearly more involved than most wives. They also met AFTER Fox came to Sac and so she wasn't necessarily along for the career ride. She also seems to really be on social media a lot and isn't afraid to inject herself into the conversation. I"m not saying that's bad or that she shouldn't, but I can certainly buy the narrative that she's more fed up than anyone and is pushing things forward.
This whole thing is weird. I don’t see what Fox gets out of this? Unless he and Recee just want to move to TX to raise their family, which is totally fine. No problems with that.
Just say that to the front office and do this quietly so the Kings can still have some leverage and you can remain in a positive light in the eyes of the fans, and you don’t be a distraction to the locker room in the middle of a season where we are trying to make a run and fight for a playoff spot.
