RIP to two legends. I could swear I read something about Kris in the news before I jumped on a plane yesterday then I land and see he had passed. So sad. And I didn't know Mutombo was sick so very sad to read the news this morning.

Hope the thread can take the rest of the week off now.

I’m hoping the lifetime ban only applied to while the man was still alive but we’re talking about the most deluded organization in professional sports so who knows.

Should have been in 20 years ago. I guess we'll see if MLB was being vindictive to Rose, or if they really wanted to make an example of him to prevent others from doing the same. I might feel differently if there was any evidence he ever bet on his team to lose or threw games, but I'm not aware of any.

So I got to thinking - Dikembe is #56 all time in WS in the NBA, and Rose is #66 all time in WAR in MLB. That's two top-100 guys passing on the same day. Kinda have to guess that's never happened before.

Paul Di'Anno - former Iron Maiden singer, 66



Bruce Dickinson is squarely in the upper tier of my top 5 frontmen all time but Paul's contributions on the first two Iron Maiden albums are nothing to sneeze at. A raw, punky edge that contributed to many early classics like their eponymous theme song, Phantom of the Opera, Murders in the Rue Morgue, Charlotte the Harlotte, Wrath Child, Running Free and Sanctuary. He also appeared on a few oddbeat singles with covers and b-sides.

He'd been sick and performing in a wheelchair lately so today's news is sadly not a shock and hopefully he has achieved some inner piece.

Bob Weir I believe was a founding member and very much with us.

Bill Kreutzman I also believe founding, and Mickey Hart was one of their best known drummers who was on again/off again iirc (not the biggest dead head this may not surprise you)

I don't know who is in Dead and Co without looking it up but I do believe that Bob Weir is in that band.

Again I am not the world's biggest fan but I always considered Jerry, Bob and Phil to be the centerpieces when they rolled the travelling circus up to town.
