I understand shooting luck/randomness, but for a full season, you don't get on this list unless there are (i) effort issues, (ii) personnel issues, and (iii) scheme issues. I'm not sure what of the three is the biggest issue here, but all of them need to be continually assessed by the coaching staff and Monte, and eventually addressed one way or another.
Can anyone clarify our pick situation this off season if our ‘24 pick conveys to Atlanta. Tim Maxwell says that if Atlanta gets our ‘24 we will have the ability to trade ‘25 ‘27 29 and ‘31. Is this correct? He says the reason we can trade the 25 is the Stephien rule only cares about future picks. I’m failing to understand why ‘24 is not a future pick? I was under the impression that teams are required to have first round picks every other year and the only work around is trading a player after you have drafted them on draft night?

I believe that if the 2024 pick conveys to Atlanta this year, we can not trade our first round pick until 2026 due to the Stepien Rule, where you can’t trade 1st round picks in back to back years. Since the Atlanta pick would have covey BEFORE the draft, we are not making a 1st round draft pick this year, so we cannot trade the 2025 1st round pick.
However, during the 2025 draft, we can draft a player in the 2025 draft and then trade that player after the draft. But, I’m pretty sure we can’t trade the 2025 pick now because we would had already traded the 2024 pick to Atlanta.

Here's an in depth article on the Stepien Rule. Since we would convey the pick to Atlanta before the draft, instead of after we make the selection, the Kings cannot trade the 2025 First round pick unless we acquired another first round pick to trade. Therefore the 1st first round pick we can include in a trade is the 2026 first round pick.

Yes, the Stepien Rule only applies to future picks, and does not apply to past picks, or current picks (i.e. if the draft is underway).
It's often thought of in terms like you stated - "teams must have a first round pick every other year" - but that's not technically the rule and is easy to misinterpret as "a team cannot go two straight years without making a first-round selection", which is NOT the rule.
It's better to look at the rule like this: "A team may not engage in any trade, the terms of which would make it *possible* for there to be two consecutive future drafts in which they do not own a first-round selection (theirs or another team's)."
