Andrew Wiggins is an interesting buy low target.
With the Warriors imploding and Wiggins having a down year, perhaps the Warriors are open to moving him? With Thompson and Paul able to come off the books next year, the Warriors could potentially look to move Wiggins (and potentially Green) to create a lot of cap space to go find a better running mate for Curry (Harden, Holiday, Anunoby, George, Leonard, LeBron, Siakam).
If anyone could return Wiggins to form, it’s probably Brown with their history and connection. If he does return to form…
- We’d have a really good player locked up on a reasonable 3+1 deal
- He really improves our athleticism (I wouldn’t call Huerter, Barnes, Murray, and Sabonis freak athletes)
- He improves our length (7’0 wingspan & 8’11” standing reach)
- He gives us an elite wing/forward defender to bolster the defense (and if Murray keeps progressing in this department, we’ll have 2 elite wing defenders)
- He maintains our great spacing (his 3P% has been 38.0-39.6% the past 3 seasons while taking 5.6-6.8 3PA per36)
- He still gives us 5 starters who can score (he’s not a limited 3&D, sit in the corner offensive player)
Seems like an interesting reclamation project that might not break the bank but could result in a terrific fit with our core.
