Can we agree Lakers-Warriors was a dreadfully boring and sloppy series? Other than Game 1, it was two over-the-hill, unbalanced teams exchanging lopsided blowouts - neither of which looked as if they really deserved to be in the second round. (And Game 1 only became close when the Lakers apparently stopped knowing how to play basketball for 10 minutes in the 4th).
I don’t mean this as sour grapes. The Warriors, specifically Curry, Looney, and intermittently Green, answered the challenge of the young Kings’ - who showed promise, but were undone by inexperience, injuries, and certain players utterly disappearing when it mattered against a transcendent talent in Curry and a defending champion rallying to show its grit.
But in the second round, the Warriors looked completely cooked from the onset, outside of Curry still having enough juice to will them to a pair of wins - and Green evidently allowed to play under the NHL rulebook.
The Lakers now enter the Western Conference Finals having taken out two teams that looked ready to fold before the series even began.
