These last two games were so strange after the Kings had previously taken the fight to the Warriors in Fox's absence. They played really gutsy in that loss, and it was a tight game down to the final buzzer. A single bad game against the Rockets wouldn't be all that noteworthy as a follow-up. It happens. But getting blown out twice in a row by the Rockets, even without Fox, is both inexcusable and perplexing. I hope the coaching staff comes up with some answers, because right now all of the talking heads seem awfully justified in their hemming and hawing about how healthy the Kings were last season, and that if they got bit by the injury bug this season, it might test them in ways they haven't really been tested yet. De'Aaron goes down with an early ankle sprain and this has been the team's response? With their influx of veteran talent, the Rockets figure to be better this season than many might have believed them to be, but they're not that much better than the version of the Rockets that the Kings' swept in their '22-'23 regular season series.
