NFL 2023-2024 Thread

To be fair, the guy he was throwing to was being held back on that one
I also got to imagine his arm strength isn't 100% coming back from the injury too. Probably won't be "fully" back until late late in the season or maybe even next year. Adding on to the fact that he doesn't have amazing armstrength to begin with.

Wow. I guess Brock Purdy is officially for real. He has haters…and lots of them apparently.
Dude just leads the offense to 30 points and wins every single game. Seems good. You do see some cracks in his play... probably because he still doesn't have a full season of NFL starts under his belt and he's still coming back from a major elbow surgery. But man, his poise really is just truly impressive; he looks every bit a 7 year NFL starter that's been with Shanny for a long time.

He has the proverbial "IT". Not the most impressive size, arm strength, athleticism in the world, but the guy knows how to play QB.

The Game Thread Dude

Andrew Luck realized that he was already a fabulously wealthy Stanford grad and left the game before the porous Colts offensive line could give him another devastating injury and maim him forever. And he apparently is aware of the meme. hats off to a true king. also if I were the Jets I’d still send a couple of Brinks trunks to his driveway just to be sure he’s really retired.

Its time Shanahan give his 2nd and 3rd stringers more looks and playing time within the games going forward, especially against weaker team opponents (like next week).
This Serves multiple purposes: see what they have to improve, give chances to waiting players itching to play, and ease risk of injury to star players........If they get 3 scores up (17pts+), bring em in.

Purdy obvsiously takes his prep work ultra-seriously and follows his coachs including Shanahan who have done a magnificent job. They may not win against the top competition but they will have a better chance with Purdy than Garrapolo simply due to Purdy's mobility and calmness. What was the whole thing with studying film for Kyler Murray, remember? - not in the contract or putting some set amount of film study or some crud like that. None of that for Purdy who undeniably listens, follows, and trusts his coaches, and they stood behind him through his injury and rehab. Purdy has made his own luck, to go with the oxymornic phrase. The 49ers need to keep players healthy now - numero uno - rotate in 2nd and 3rd string in to see what happens. They know they have a winning forumula and they need to preserve components of it.
