There was lots of smoke, but after the L I’m leaning towards
@PorchSurfin assessment. There’s unfinished business for Sasha now. And honestly, I’m cool not betting our future continued ascent on a 27 year old Euro who may or may not translate.
Just don’t panic and overpay Barnes to stay.
If I was a betting man (which make no assumptions, I'm not), I wouldn't go ALL IN on him not coming over but I would bet a sizeable chunk of my stake money on it.
Dude just has no ties here, and all his ties there. I think (the royal) we are looking at this through our purple tinted glasses too hard. All signs point toward him wanting to continue (and probably finish) his career over there but we scream "The money!" and "He would help the Kings so much", none of which I get the feeling he even cares about.
I think it's nice, to him, being scouted and wined/dined to come over, but I don't think his heart is even into it.
If I had to make a guess, he enjoys being the top dog over there and attempting to bring glory, and being a role player with no real guarantee of that in the NBA isn't as illustrious as we try to make it seem.
If it were ME, I would stay right where I was, being a Rockstar and the top dog on a top team.
I have been wrong before obviously, but I don't think I'm wrong on this one. The Kings probably wasted a lot of money, time, and resources on it but I wouldn't fault them for it. He could have been an impact player for stretches for us.
I just don't think he cares about being an impact player for stretches when he can be THE GUY for all of it. And I don't blame him.
Not to mention, he is pretty fing old to be rookie hazed lol
