I'm sorry wait what, Ben was in Portland last year? I guess I didn't go to any games because I was avoiding crowds due to the thing.

My “wait what” was that he was out of the league.

off topic but I read a pretty good article on Portlands attempt at attracting a mlb team. If you haven’t read it and have the Athletic it’s really interesting. Didn’t know people there are so nuts for a baseball team

Well, I'd say it's a very small segment.

When Merritt Paulson bought the Timbers, he was really buying the Portland Beavers and hoping to get into MLB. Needless to say, Timbers were already well supported and an overdue invite to MLS 2.0 and the Beavers folded shop in the process. I think Sacramento should get MLB long before Portland does.

the article made a pretty decent case for Portland and apparently has been mentioned my the commissioner as on of a few expansion cities

If I had to guess it's because there are a handful of great locations available with easy access to walking neighborhoods and transit. I'm haven't attended an MLB game in about a decade, and it was a alumni event in Seattle vs. the Sox. Seattle has a beautiful stadium with great sitelines but they have marginal attendance and are largely a visiting fan ballpark like a Clippers game was when I lived in LA. I'd hate to see that here. But damn right I'd go to Red Sox games especially if they were alumni events. Giants too.

But I can't help but feel if Paulson failed with all his daddy's resources it won't happen.

Watched the end of pelicans/nuggets. Denver is looking slick, their defense is way better and joker just doesn’t miss. Pelicans looked pretty good too and they got a lot of size to give us problems. Marshall and nance stood out in this one.

I don't trust Portor/Murray/Gordan/Hyland for a second come playoffs (Murray is a wildcard he was great in the bubble), the only 3 players on the squad you can trust are KCP, Bruce Brown and Jokic. The entire leagues elite teams this year look like pretenders or are banged up this is the most wide open I have ever seen the NBA, trade deadline will be huge.
