Props to Monk. Good game. I flipped out on him in the third when I think maybe 5-6 passes in a row failed to reach their target…but most of them actually didn’t become turnovers or weren’t capitalized on

Glad to see the Kings handle business in OT without Domas. This one was ugly, but nice to see them split these two with the Timberwolves. I think the trade for Gobert was an overpay and doesn't make much sense in this era of smallball and outside shooting, but it DOES make Minny a tough matchup for the Kings since their best two players like to operate in the paint.

On to the next one.

Shout out to Trey Lyles too.. might be a key player with certain match-ups.
Shown he can play next to Domas and honestly, I think he can physically handle a good chunk of centers, especially back-ups if he were to absorb those 9-12 back-up C minutes as well. He's a much bigger offensive threat than Metu or Holmes, giving Fox or Monk a pick n pop option in the PnR.

Hopefully Brown gives it a go for a few games before the deadline. If he shows that he can handle that slot, lets us use our assets on a back-up wing instead of a back-up C

The Kings played a great OT period and stole the momentum from Minnesota. One thing I'd like to see both Sabonis and Fox grow out of is this begging for techs reaction when they don't get calls. Yes it was a tough offensive foul on Sabonis followed up by a tough no call at the other end but neither one was obviously wrong and Sabonis just completely lost his composure there. You can't do that when the game is on the line and you're already on a 2 game losing streak. All's well that ends well though. Monk and Lyles were big time for us down the stretch.

I trust our coaching staff to see what worked in that stretch and hopefully give the next opponent a healthy dose of it. Let’s get another winning streak going baby!!
Brown is a bit system heavy but unlike every other coach the Kings have had since forever, he will go the well when forced too. It's a welcome sight. Brown's already said he's let Fox call him off at times. The issue come to find out is that Fox is simply too unselfish. Has been his whole career TBH.

Also, just to note we saw some rare pick and roll/pop play from Fox and Keegan late out of necessity. The Wolves were confused as to what to do. Wouldn't mind seeing more of that set.
Loved it. I think Trey gives you that option to explore Keegan as the screener because Lyles doesn't have to be in the dunker spot like Metu and Holmes do. Could be an absolutely lethal way to get him open looks on the pop.

Or maybe even some post/paint touches because you don't have another big in the game clogging the lane.
