Unless something big is on the horizon, our only hope of sniffing the playoffs in 2023 rides on the idea that the team drastically under performed last year.

I’m bummed.
Who knows. I think overall the talent is there but for sure, via the draft/trade, some very direct competition got better and the Kings didn't do much tonight to prepare for eventual turn over to a youth movement.

Fans complain because this team misses the play-offs year after year and consistently makes short term decisions. Instead of making upside 2nd round picks and developing them like good organizations we consistently sell them.

Vivek is the worst owner in all of sports hands down.
Daniel Snyder is literally being investigated by Congress as we speak and Rob Sarver once tried to honeytrap free agents.

Bi-annual?

Looking at it from this perspective, we don't really have the room on the roster. What if trades net more players than are sent out?

You can have 20 players on roster in off season

17 after it starts though right? which means we either cut last years second rounders or we give them 2+ years to maybe be ready.

I'm not a fan of having more than one second round pick most years, Vlade stockpiled the things in a way that made it almost impossible to keep them under contract long enough to see what we have.

Man, now that is a team of PF/C's that would make even Vlade blush, lol.

We've somehow had multiple second rounders the past two seasons despite Monte doing everything in his power to shed them during the season (trading two for Delon Wright, trading another two for Terence Davis, trading one for Harkless). Maybe it's okay to not stockpile all the second round picks?

We need to get rid of some fringe NBA talent before we bring in more fringe NBA talent. Honestly hope we have some trades of these expiring contracts on the horizon so that we can try to pry away a nice complimentary piece or two that will actually see minutes under Brown.

Work out nothing but 2nd rounders, trade both picks. Way to swerve 'em Monte!
Exactly. Doesn't make sense. I don't understand the plan. It has nothing to do with Murray, but how is this team going to make a jump if they don't have enough of the right pieces. Leveraging the 4th pick was a perfect opportunity to do that. We don't know what exact deals were out there, but there was enough talk that there must have been something to be had.

Disappointed that with all the hype surrounding this pick, the team may not have got significantly better.

We drafted Queta last year and Woodard and Ramsey in the year before that. How many second rounders do you want us to pick every year?
Never stop drafting second rounders. That's what thing I've really liked about Monte's approach until this season; he's actually invested in some developmental pieces that might pop. It's more or less random if one does or not, but the point is to keep giving yourself shots on goal. Smart teams make a point to get into the 2nd round as often as possible.

But when Liddell is playing 18 minutes off the bench for NOP in the playoffs and Hardy fills in for Brunson, I'm sure we'll be thanking our lucky stars we held onto the Len and Harkless expiring contracts.
