Apparently, Gentry is going all-in on offense. He's mortgaging every last bit of defense for another point. Very soon this team will be #1 in the NBA in points allowed. Goodbye, baby, to the goal of getting into the top 15 in defense. That's nothing but a bad joke now.
Didn't you catch Bricks brief return. This IS Gentry. Fact is, it's still better for the team than Walton ever was. Fox is showing you just how bad of a coach Luke Walton is.

When I played H.S. basketball if we lost a game because of bad FT shooting (especially choke at end costing game) coach kept everyone on the bench after the final buzzer. After calm but firm talk with us about all we did wrong he lined us up on both ends of the court shooting FTs until gym lights went out and custodians about to lock up. It did not happen very often as we were well above average FT shooting team, hard nosed, smart head coach major reason won back-to-back section titles Jr and Sr years. Team mgr and asst mgr kept running score (%) how well each player did from the line and was a factor who started next game or who got more or less minutes. FTs are called Free for a reason he used to say, just make them so rest of the really hard parts of basketball game go easier. I suppose today if H.S. coach did that could be under investigation by district snowflake police for abusing his authority!

Come on. That ain’t happening in the NBA. It doesn’t happen anymore in D1 hoops. And it is never going to happen with this group of players.
Well they need to keep the space to a minimum. I'm not saying be draped all over all game but be in their area in man to man. You have a quickness advantage they have a size one, once the ball gets past the outer line defensively via post entry or back doors you're toast anyway. Make those passes tough. Also, this is a guard team, something you mostly see in college. Either way, it's the double teaming that's killing them. Being this small means there is no help, running out with someone like Mitchell on recovery? Haha, good luck. They even had him playing down off the 3. It was harkening back to Cojo there.

Gentry was upset about the team's defense on Wednesday (rightly so) and surely upset about it today. Davion's unquestionably the better play defensively and, tonight, arguably offensively too.

It’s not about being in their area or double teaming, it’s about playing as a team. This team doesn’t work for each other on either side of the ball. The only thing that they do consistently is run. You can get away with it if they had a prime Lebron on the team. You can’t get away with it with a starting version of Leandro Barbosa as your franchise player.

The Kings have no identity … they literally let a team missing 7 guys dictate the matchups in this game. I’d say 99% of minutes this year they’ve had a true center on the floor. So what do they do vs a team depleted in the front court? They downsize and play into the other teams hands, not playing a center the last 6 minutes.

Just insanity and dumb coaching. Len was drawing double teams every time he touched the ball in the paint but the other players on the floor and coaching staff barely noticed it seemed. Not including his 2 easy dunks he was only posted up twice, and both times 3/4 guys converged. 1 time he missed the hook, other time he passed out for the 3. Len should have finished the game. Good teams find a way to take advantage of matchups but the Kings didn’t take advantage of the hornets lack of size AT ALL.

That’s why they lost, they always react to what the other team is doing.

The Fox bashers are just losers man. Yes, he needs to make at least one, but Kings get blown out by 12 if he's not rolling with another 31 points on 17 shots.

Buddy is the problem here. Dude is getting 20 million a year and he's just shooting this team out of games. I thought he might have turned a corner and was pretty easily like our 2nd or 3rd best player the first 17 games of the year. He's a net negative player when he's not nailing 40% of his 3's and his slump is taking the Kings out of games.

Lets face it, sometimes she talks too much and scatter brain gets lost in the fog of Kings (this time Fox) giving it away.
I've kind of learned to tune the broadcasting out. When I really listen it usually makes no sense at all, is irrelevant, or is funny when they don't want it to be.

He seemed unconcerned in the post game. I don't recall him saying anything about defense. It's almost like he just surrendered to his players who don't want to play D.

Better for the team? LOL. Yeah, it's better for the stat hogs, better for destroying any attempt whatsoever at building a tough, defensive minded team. Culture? The culture is soft as tissue, fragile as a petal, and weak as a baby kitten. Fox isn't showing me anything at this point other than he's a talented soft selfish stat hog loser. He's a leader all right - he leads this team in putrid defense, softness, and an attitude that wreaks of "I'm just playing for me and my pay check." Losers get stats at the expense of wins. Winners sacrifice stats to get wins.

This team looks worse than it did under Walton. Hard to believe I'm saying it, but they look soooo incredibly soft, soooo weak, soooo bad, it looks like a full wave the white flag moment by Gentry, and then at the end he's acting as if he shouldn't have abject shame over his team's performance. Gentry: "You know, it's just one of those games, the NBA is tough, we "struggled" (Ha Ha). Question to Gentry and Kayte, who loves the word, "struggle": How is it possible to "struggle" if one puts up no resistance? Without major changes by McNair I could easily see this team go from .423 down to .300 in the standings.

All this talk about statistics with free throws…at the end of the day, no matter what happened prior to those shots, an NBA point guard on a max contract has to make one of those shots. Some people have the clutch gene, and Fox doesn’t.

I was sure you were going to say we aren’t trading for a good wing with 6’5” guards and immobile centers who can’t stretch the floor.

Aside from the many times when Fox has been clutch, he has not been clutch.
