Bucks Trade In Jeopardy: Bogi Didn’t Agree Go to the Bucks

#62
If this actually blows up in our face, we should accept that KANGZ might be a reflection of how irredeemably cursed this franchise is, rather than the actions of any particular front office
Whomever came up with “KANGZ” should be “figuratively” shot. Most non-sensical baby talk $#!t I’ve ever read. Or heard. Calling it “lame” gives it too much credit. Really don’t understand why grown adults bother using it in a sentence.

What’s the collective average age of the members here? Serious question.

Because I was under the impression that mocking names by purposely misspelling, mispronouncing or rhyming with something else became unfunny after grade school. Apparently not.

I know I’m getting older, but this type of juvenile sense of humor didn’t resonate with me even when I was 17.

Moving on..... I agree with those believing this deal will get done. I have absolutely no doubt whatsoever that Bogdanovic and/or his agent have been in the loop the entire time.

A S/T deal with Milwaukee has been rumored for weeks. There’s no chance Bogdanovic’s camp wasn’t reaching out to find out whether there was a legitimate fire behind the smoke. If they weren’t involved already.

There’s something else going. So folks need to relax on the notion that the player was never consulted.

The something else appears to be this:

A source told The Bee that Bogdanovic never agreed to the terms of any deal and cannot be offered a deal until free agency begins Friday. The Athletic reported the deal was “in peril” because that element of an already complicated agreement “has become a major issue.”

The issue is if the NBA has a problem with it. Or the other owners, which rumors are floating around that they do. That could basically change the parameters of the deal and not in a good way for the Kings potentially. If the NBA sees the exact rumored deal go through there is no doubt that if they considered it tampering that it was.

It seems like the Bucks are stupid. They are leaking like sieves, and making panic moves to assuage their star player they are scared to freakin death will leave. They've been busted once before so it's likely the second punishment may be harsher too.

I don't even know that I would characterize it as humor. I think it's just a shorthand for "they are who we thought they were" which really only became a thing after we ticked over into the second decade of consistent and pervasive front office self-sabotage. I don't much care for the term either, but it expresses an idea that I think we're all familiar with and even the players embraced it ironically at some point, so it's just here to stay now until we prove that it's no longer accurate,

I don't honestly think that Bogdan had no idea any of this was going on, but for a trade to come out as a done deal and then days later to have it basically called into question if it ever existed in the first place is highly unusual. This whole year is highly unusual though so any number of things could have happened. As was previously discussed, Milwaukee doesn't have the cap space to make Bogdan a competitive offer without unloading contracts which is why the S&T exists. It's possible the terms were agreed to in the event that Bogdan would agree to the Bucks' offer once they are allowed to talk to free agents but then who leaked it as a done deal?

Whatever. Just move him on anywhere. The most important thing this season is getting rid of buddy buckets. Shame were not hearing any leaks there.

Bit of a shame if we don't land Divincenzo though.

If my understanding of the trade is legit....

Ersan's salary has to be confirmed by Friday

Doubt the Bucks guarantee it, unless this deal is still on.

This actual deal can be completed on Sunday.

There's your timeline.

Man... I’m just picturing the nightmare scenario of mediocre Bogi back on a bloated contract. In no way moves the needle or helps this team. Smh

It could be an agreed in principle type of thing where not all the details were sorted out. The source could be an agent I suppose.

Well, in the Bee story itself Anderson writes that the same “league source” that’s saying “there never was a deal” also had said “there is no deal” when the trade was first reported on Monday.
Shouldn't this have been reported in the original story? Isn't this something Anderson should have brought us on MONDAY?

this paragraph was in the story Monday, as far as I can tell navigating the Bee’s horrific app:

A league source cautioned The Sacramento Bee that no deal had been finalized, but that appears to be a technicality. ESPN’s Bobby Marks noted the trade can’t be completed until the free-agent moratorium ends Saturday.

I think he did. It just got drowned by the massive wave of “ZOMG BUCKSSSSSSSSSSS” tweets

My bad - I'm out of Bee articles for the month, so I was relying on reports here. (I blame all you guys for not bringing it up! ;))

Not gonna happen. The other bad thing about this is it does pretty much kill the Kings leverage. Teams know the Kings are willing to move on now. If they have to let him walk, let him.
