Day One update from the IAAF World Championships, in Doha, Qatar:

  • Christian Coleman (USA) wins the men's 100m. Justin Gatlin (USA) gets silver.
  • Tajay Gayle (JAM) wins the men's high jump. Jeff Henderson (USA) settles for silver.
  • Sifan Hassan (NED) wins the women's 10,000m.
  • Ruth Chepngetich (KEN) wins the women's marathon.
  • Deanna Price (USA) wins the women's hammer throw. Gwen Berry (USA), who won gold at the 2019 Pan American Games last month, qualified for the Final, but did not complete a throw in the Final.
  • United States set a new World Record in the mixed 4x400 relay, during the preliminary round.
  • Yusuke Suzuki (JPN) wins the men's 50km walk.
  • Rui Liang (CHN) wins the women's 50 km walk.

  • Christian Taylor (USA) wins the men's triple jump. Will Claye (USA) gets silver. Hughes Fabrice Zango (BDI) sets a new African Record, as he takes bronze.
  • Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce (JAM) wins the women's 100m. Dina Asher-Smith (GBR) sets a new National Record, as she takes silver.
  • United States wins the mixed 4x400m relay, breaking the World Record that they set in the preliminary heat.
  • China sweeps the podium in the women's 20km walk. Liu Hong wins gold.
  • Anzhelika Sidorova (ANA) wins the women's pole vault. Sandi Morris (USA) settles for silver.

Simone Biles wins the women's balance beam and floor exercise, breaking a tie with Belarusian men's gymnast Vitaly Scherbo for most gymnastics medals ever. 19 of Biles' 25 medals are gold. Only 12 of Scherbo's 23 medals are.

In other SPOARTS~! news, Coco Gauff wins the Linz Open, to capture her first career WTA title.

Ruiz vs Joshua part II was as good as expected....Joshua lost 11 pounds and changed his boxing technique from the first fight. There needs to be a Wilder vs Joshua or Joshua vs Fury in the works here
