If this was a Joerger coaches team, there would be a whole bunch of bitching and moaning yet now that it’s Walton, he gets a pass? The team plays with no pace, which was a strength under Joerger, the defense is no better nor worse, offensively they look lost again. The team sinks or swims with the 3 point shot and we haven’t been shooting well for awhile.

When in doubt blame the coach

Pretty much it.

Walton has completely tossed his rotation schedule out the window the last few games. He's clearly searching. One thing I think is becoming clear is that this will have to be a different team with Fox and Bagley back. They need to go from almost all motion, assist reliant basketball to more space and pace. Some of those lineups he put out there are non threats outside of 15 feet with a non struggling Buddy Hield. With an off, out of whack Buddy there is no hope. On the other end teams are starting to drift to the 3's the help scheme gives. There has to be a change there as well most likely. Nothing has to be thrown away probably but this newly added to roster featuring individual threats needing space vs. the previous unselfish role players that can't create their own shots is certainly showing some strategic adjustment is in order.

Much better on those last two sequences. They gave enough space and moved the ball, instead of just bodies into the paint. The Kings tend to move into the area the ball handler needs to get to which just cuts things off. Space and move to where the defense doesn't want to be.

Ball movement better this quarter but the shooting is awful. This team needs Holmes on the floor to win. Every King would be well served to see how Holmes plays and his overall effort and energy at all times.

Barnes at least seems alive. Buddy lost his shot somewhere and needs to find it. Fox needs to push the pace. Fox is our advantage as the fastest player on the floor and he rarely uses his speed. One of the other main differences between last year's team and this year's team.

Finally, they got Barnes and Buddy some squared looks at the rim and it's paying off. A lot of the shots they are getting Buddy are the toughest 3's anyone can hit and only ones you should take when you're on fire. Buddy's game is in transition heading to the rim from the 3 or when squared up off of the pin down.

Ah man, back to square one folks. Bagley down low posting up as Fox is attempting to drive. Clear out! Or call a post up play then clear out!

MOD NOTE: There is a thread where you can snipe about Luka not being taken at #2. The game thread ISN'T IT. If you can't help yourself, you'll be locked out of the thread.

I see almost no benefits outside of maybe an end of game defensive possession for Fox and Joseph to share the floor. It's literally worse than Fox and Yogi last year. Bagley, Fox, and Joseph can't survive in the modern game as a tandem. No chance.
