Zinger beasted sans Luka, and the Mavs beat the mighty Bucks!

It'll be interesting to see if they can continue to win without the boy wonder.

Methinks his supporting cast is a bit underrated.
I hope not. If they go on a losing streak...1) it can help the Kings 2) shows how valuable Luka is.

Been saying this entire season Mavs roster is not bad without Luka they took 2 of the best teams in the East to the limit and beat one of them. Kleiber/Curry/Wright/THJ/DFS are all rotation players and most play excellent D. If they could make a trade for Jrue Holiday watch out imo.

Also the fact Rick can make Powell look decent is a amazing feat his system is built for elite rollers other than Noel all the other athletic lob catchers have had great seasons with Rick in particular that one season before they traded for Rondo where Jameer Nelson/Parsons/Ellis were throwing lobs for days to Chandler/Wright they were on pace at the time to set all kinds of records.

The supporting cast should have been 3-1 vs the elite 4 teams of the East (chocked vs Miami) but 2-2 is a fantastic return without Luka. Rick has those boys in Dallas playing hard, props to Brunson for playing some great games recently.

I was really surprised they did so well without Luka. To me it seems that he's still learning how to use KP effectively. That would explain it, and also why they'll be much better once he figures it out.

I don’t think he’s going to figure it out, and Zinger is going to want out. In fact, I think this little interlude will hasten that process, as Zinger will return to being a second class citizen.

One thing that all new players have to deal with is the higher standard of play. Guys like Jimmer find out that what worked in college usually won't work any more. For Luka, it's been a while since he played with someone who's even close to his ability. He doesn't need to do it all himself, and he needs to learn how to rely on teammates simply because he hasn't had opportunities to practice that. If he can't learn to effectively mesh with teammates, I don't think he could win multiple championships the way Jordan did, even if he's the best player in the league for the next 10 years.

how about Kawhi go check Toronto’s record last year without him or this year without him
Kawhi Leonard finished ninth in 2018-19 NBA MVP voting, so your comparison doesn't hold up. "The Raptors are still good, this year!" isn't the 'gotcha' you think it is, especially since MVP is a regular season award.

Lmao. That really feels like a hope and a prayer because good things are happening to other franchises and it makes us sad.
There is a real possibility that KP will not shine as well once Luka is back. It has nothing to do with the sour grapes attitude you want to attribute to those who point it out.

Zinger has already proven to be a combustible personality, and nothing about the Mavs run prior to Luka’s injury suggested Zinger would ever be maximized. How many second fiddles has Harden failed to maximize? Similar situation here. Don’t really care what the Mavs do, just sticking by my previous prediction Zinger is moved this summer by mutual agreement.

Oh it’s completely possible he won’t shine once Luka gets back, I’m not debating that at all. But to go immediately to “KP probably will demand out!” is silly.

I’m pretty sure his issues in demanding out of NY were all because of the front office foolery by old friend Phil Jackson. Correct me if I’m wrong on that one.

Has he had a falling out/chemistry problem with anyone actually on the court? I honestly don’t know. I don’t remember seeing anything, but I don’t exactly follow him close enough to know for sure.

Even if he demands out they will get solid return for him and probably cap space and they still have there key piece/elite talent in Luka, so other than injury worst case scenario Mavs still doing well.

Idk about that. The guy on a max contract who was playing like he was before LD went down can’t be a very desirable asset.

He's still 7'4 two way player who brings floor spacing/shot blocking two of the most desirable skills of for any big and he's still young he's got a ton of value even if he plays crap him being on the floor makes most teams better. Injuries are the only things that will bring down his value I would trade for him right now if I were the Kings and he wanted out.

I'm not a mind reader so I cannot correct you one way or the other. Was Jackson part of it? Quite likely but I think the point Sactown Ex-Pat was making was that Zinger might not be happy with his role.

We’re embarrassing ourselves now you think Porzingis will want out of a team that’s winning cause his friend is better than him ya ok. He was coming back from ACL it was gonna take time he’s not Adrian Peterson. He was struggling with posting up and going by people as well as missing a lot of open shots that he was getting.

Harden dribbles for 20 seconds and throws his teammates the ball last second and if he’s off the ball like he was with CP3 last year he’s standing at half court disinterested. Everyone knew Luka was a monster you think Porzingis signed that contract thinking he wouldn’t be Robin. Come on man

In that light, I keep telling myself that the Kings probably would have eff'ed up Doncic's development/game if they drafted him so it doesn't really matter who they drafted at #2. It's at least a possibility, right?
the kid was developed at like 16 remember the knock against was he couldn’t improve that much
