HARRY GILES (merged)

If he doesn't start immediately, it's not a mark against Joerger IMHO. It's an indication that he needs to walk as an NBA player before he can run. I seriously doubt if he's going to be on a minutes restriction. He sat out last year to make sure that wouldn't be necessary.
Well, if he’s the best man for the job I hope that’s true. From what I’ve seen, he looks better now than WCS/Koufos/Etc. Hopefully there isn’t a “earn it” or reservation about the injury that would cause a greater hurdle in seeing him on opening day. He’s an exciting prospect either way who will bring interest

I can't wait to see him play either. I just think Joerger is going to make him earn his minutes, which means I think WCS will start for a while at least. I don't think they have any reservations about his injury.

Either way, he's definitely attracting the interesting of a LOT of Kings fan and that's got to be good, right?

I think he earned it in practice last year

I am my own character and have been backpacking for 58 years, since 1960. I learned from my Dad who got started in the mid 1930s.
I hear you. I'm an avid hiker; used to be a backpacker. I was referring to a movie called A Walk In The Woods, based on the Bill Bryson book. Thought you might have seen it and identified with either the Redford or Nolte character.

Only recently has backpacking become remotely mainstream. It is a way of life that is hard to capture in a book or a movie. I am aware of the book but never read it. I don't relate to either character. Not interested. The outdoors has been my recreation , my vocation and my religion.

Would be a disappointment for me if he wasn’t starting, which would give the campaign some excitement (not that I expect that from Joerger). Maybe he will be on a minutes restriction do to health? I’m 99% past WCS, and for me the minutes should be Giles/Bagley/Skal’s with the role players

But Giles starting is something to tune in for nightly
Unfortunately, there's next to a 0% chance we're going to take the macro approach this season and truly focus in on developing our core together as the main goal as opposed to adding 2 or 3 extra wins. There's no doubt in my mind that we're going to see Bagley or Giles sitting at least a couple times this season at the end of the game when ZBO as a "hot" offensive game and we feed him down the stretch. Same with Shumpert in lieu of Buddy/Bogdan/JJ at some point this year as well.

WCS should have been traded this off-season as well. It's just hard to see where he fits with us long-term and it makes next to 0 sense to pay him, even if he does have a good year when we have Bagley/Giles/Skal all on team-controlled contracts and all of whom are significantly younger than WCS. I still think there's some upside in WCS game, but we clearly showed we've moved past him with the Bagley pick taking up one of the front-court spots for the next decade and Giles being hyped as a franchise savior.

This is what frustrates me most about Vlade as a GM. He just doesn't understand (or refuses) to set the team up for long-term success. Looking at the roster we're likely heading into the season with, it looks like we're going to be in for another 10-11 man rotation where nobody gets more than 28-30 MPG. Maybe I'll be wrong, but it's hard to believe Shump/Koufos/Randolph aren't involved in the rotation in some fashion taking valuable minutes away from guys we should be developing.

I'm sorry but that comment is delusional. Considering the craptastic job done by his predecessor, Vlade has done an admirable job of starting a REAL rebuild. That doesn't happen overnight.
