Stein Report on Ty Lawson

He wants boogie. The price starts at ALL of your picks and our pick at your roster and that just gets you a returned call.
Would I want a trade for Boogie....sure! Would I want the Kings to not get a fair value? Of course not. I want to see the Kings rise just like everyone else. I like how certain people on this site are the authority on who's a Kings fan here and who's not.

Don't put me in that bunch but am I right about WHY your here?

We have to remember that WCS and Ben are in their early 20s (barely adults!), are NBA players (fame), and have plenty of money. Of course they are going to go party and hang out at the club (I did that too and I'm not rich or famous!); I sincerely doubt that Ty dragged them to the club and forced them to be there. However, there is certainly a responsibility a player has to take upon himself and make sure he is fit for a game/practice the next day, absolutely. That is where Ty and most players differ, he just takes it too far, or at least has in the past.

It's clear the Kings aren't going to comment on this in detail, and the story we have so far is most likely all we are going to get. In order to save Ty's image and our own, we decided to not say anything, and in Joerger's case, actually twist it on the media for blowing it out of proportion. This way, we save ourselves the disgrace of "King's Ty Lawson gets hammered, misses practice and game" headline on ESPN, which would push us even further down the line of worst managed franchise in the last 10 to 15 years.
Yeah but instead it's "King's Ty Lawson gets hammered, misses practice and game, and Kings org sweeps it under the rug." How do you think most elite orgs would have handled this? I think Joerger is going to be a really good presence for this team, I just don't like the response. Especially when we're trying to change the locker-room culture. We all can speculate on what happened, but let's be real... We know what the most likely scenario was.

Sorry I'm a Kings fan second, never claimed to be my number one team. Question to you president of the Kings Fan Club, if I change my screen name would it be better? If I get a Kings tatoo would you let me be in your club? Do Kings fans only live in Sacramento? Doesn't it make you angry the Kings haven't been to the playoffs in 10 years or so? Why can't I question the team? If you don't like my post don't read them. If you want me to start a new screen name as #1kingsfan let me know. What makes you a bigger Kings fan then me?
No need for hostility. I asked an honest question and even prefaced by saying that if you are a closet Kings fan, then I get it. It just didn't seem like the case to me. But your first sentence says differently. No need to go further than that with all the other nonsense.

Having said that, I will answer your 4th and 6th questions.

Of course it bothers me that the Kings haven't been to the playoffs in 10 years (angry isn't the right way to describe it). As a secondary Kings fan, doesn't it bother you??

As for being a bigger Kings fan than you, the easiest and obvious answer would be that they are my #1 team, not #2. But I never made such a proclamation in the 1st place.

Just to be the devil's advocate. The Kentucky Wildcats are my #1 college team. I live in Kentucky and Lexington is not too far away from me. However, it wouldn't surprise me in the least that with how Bajaden talks about college ball, his third, fourth and maybe even fifth favorite college team ranks higher with him than the Wildcats do with me. And Louisville can go suck eggs ...........

With Baja, you never know.

The moment you used the term "So called Kings fans", you lost me. When did asking for the truth about a situation become hating on Lawson? I seriously doubt that anyone on this forum hates Lawson. But they might be concerned about someone with a history of addiction to alcohol taking a selfie in a nightclub. At the very least, you have to question his judgement. Concern is not hatred. And your not a judge of who is a Kings fan.
Asking for the truth is perfectly fine. But when you don't have the whole truth, I think its a higher road to give a person the benefit of the doubt - at least until the truth is known.

My complaint is that I'm seeing too many Kings fans jump to conclusions about a person who may or may not be guilty of recent alcoholic or addictive behavior. Bad decisions, perhaps. But bad decisions aren't reserved for alcoholics and drug addicts.

If Lawson's friend was truly suicidal, it's not a stretch (for me) to believe that Lawson probably thought that taking care of his buddy was the most important thing he could do that night. And that includes taking him to a club to forget about his troubles for a few hours. For all we know, his buddy did attempt suicide that night! I'm not saying I think that happened, I'm just saying that we don't have the facts and yet so many of us have jumped to the conclusion that Lawson is guilty.

I was born and raised an hour from Lexington and just recently moved to Southern Illinois to pastor a church. It is cool to meet another Kentuckian whom is a Wildcat and Kings fan.

I'm a transplant, born in California but not raised there or here but I consider where I'm at home. I love seeing people identify themselves followers of the Good Book. Prayers.
