We've been squishing in little comments about this in various out of date threads. Figured we should have one main one for the 2-week tournament. Any Team USA stuff could fit of course.


And to kick things off, something that another poster posted in another one of those squished in threads. Boogie and friends kicking off their quest for gold in interesting style:

I actually excited for Team USA because I know Boogie is going to play hard and the right way....all the dysfunction we as Kings fans have been subject to will be put on hold with Boogie schooling fools.....

For so long I have only wanted Boogie to play the right way. For the next two weeks we get the chance to see Boogie play the right way, because he's in great shape, and it's not about him. It's not about the refs. It's not about his contentious relationship with the coach. It's about team. It's about hustle and effort. Its about bringing home gold. Its about doing the dirty work and asserting your dominance on the world stage. This we can hope will have carryover to the regular season.

The difference between this and last time around is there is no Brow to play second fiddle to. DeAndre is the only other legitimate big on this squad without Anthony Davis or Plumlee so this is chance for Boogie to shine and I expect he will.

I know Team USA playing Beijing Generals but DMC running full court, dashing down court better than ever seen him. Maybe best sprinter on the floor tonight - really doing everything. Rebounding, shooting well inside/out, from the line, playing great D.

Apparently FIBA no longer does boxscores and is going to resort to a Scoreboard! level game analysis.

Either that or some untreated human waste shorted out the official scorer's internet connection.

We often try to point our fingers to Boogie for their issues, but deep down we all know the truth — he has played alongside some of the worst players in the NBA over the last few seasons.

Whatever shortcomings Cousins has had in the NBA, many of them have been out of his control. Sure, he has been through more coaches through his career than you have underwear in the same period of time, but that’s such a minuscule blip on an otherwise awesome Boogie radar.

His antics, in this short period of time, have already led to my marriage to my wife of seven years to being on the ropes. She is clearly jealous of my newfound infatuation over a man named Boogie, and for some reason appeared misguidedly offended when I told her I’d be cool if she hooked up with him.

This is a good article and contains a bit of sunshine compared to most Boogie articles.

He played 15 relatively passionless minutes and scored 17 pts (2nd highest on the team), 6-8 shooting, 5-5 fts, 5 rbds, a couple assists one of which was a beauty and unselfish pass to Durant for a corner 3, etc. Coach K has wanted a team that was a relatively small ball team in that it ignored using the big men on offense. That works well enough to win a gold. What is becoming unmistakable is that his big men are unstoppable. Boogie gets fouled a lot and that is how he gets 15 pts on 8 shots. I will be curious to see how Coach K and the team respond to finding that they have an unstoppable offensive power in the paint. It seems clear to me that they are looking to Boogie in small bursts to provide offense which is a break from the Coach K style. This is a beautifully constructed team with pgs, a mass of interchangeable tall athletic big guys, and two giants of vastly different styles who are monsters down low.

Remember when Boogie was cosidered too immature for the team? That was two years ago.

His minutes were lower cause he got kneed in the nuts in the first quarter. That's why he left early.
