What rumored Bulls trade is this?
Looks like its only been reported by a Bulls Insider, so who knows how reliable he is.

First rumor was terrible for us:
Carlos Douglas Jr. @TheRealC_Los
Source: #Bulls & #Kings continue to discuss a possible Rudy Gay/McLeMore deal. 2 players SAC "likes" are Nikola Mirotic & Doug McDermott.
Second rumor was terrible for the Bulls:
Carlos Douglas Jr.
@TheRealC_Los

Source: #Bulls have offered Nikola Mirotic, Tony Snell, Joakim Noah's expiring deal & 1st rounder to #Kings for Rudy Gay & Ben McLemore.

I can see a deal with Chicago coming together pretty soon... Cleveland and Orlando not so much.

Love to get one of Orlando's young players, just think there are other teams with more to offer...

Funny how much we've talked about wanting Tony Snell on this board...

Their situation sounds exactly like ours with Ben. It's uncanny.
The grass is always greener, right? A McLemore/Snell swap would seem like a welcome change of pace at this point. Snell has a couple of inches on Ben and I don't think there's any athleticism gap there.

Forget those Chicago scrubs. I'd much rather see a player that can actually make a difference on both ends of the court. I've been lobbying for Oladipo for weeks. If he can be had for anybody not named Boogie or Willie, make it happen.

Mirotic is a stretch four (no more forcing Rudy into the mold).

McLemore and Snell are both "potential" guys who could use a change of scenery.

Throw in Noah (expiring) and a 1st?!

This would be a killer trade for us.

Make it happen Vlade!

I have said before that I wouldn't want to trade Gay unless I am getting a genuine #2 scorer back that can create his own shot. The only way I could see us doing it is if Chicago trades back the rights to our #1 pick that is still hanging around from the Casspi-Hickson trade.

I still doubt we would trade Rudy for "flexible" pieces. I wouldn't be surprised if Divac likes Mirotic a lot but I doubt it's at the expense of Rudy.

Mirotic is awful and the Bulls fans cant' stand him. Noah is a shell of his former self. We wouldn't get better this year, but it's not bad depending on where the pick would land.

All I want to say is, I hope the King wait until the off season to make trades. Because:

1. Let the new GM and coach decide how they want to shape this team.
2. I think there are better deals to have in the summer.

The last thing I want is for Vlade ot trade for Player X, and a few months later, the new coach say, "I don't want Player X!"

But patience is not something this FO values highly.

You didn't @ me, but since your post immedately follows mine, I'll bite.

I like Kosta. I've long thought that he'd be a good fit here. In fact, his name popped into my head the minute I read about the Philly trade.

But it's simply a matter of best allocating resources.

The Kings have the best center in the NBA. They also have a very good starting power forward who can play backup center as well. Adding a third big who can stretch the floor next to Cousins or WCS would give the team an additional wrinkle that, in my (and many others here) opinion, would make Cousins even more effective offensively. As WCS improves, the minutes won't be there--sure, you can play the two centers together, but it's not working well--the Koufos/Cousins pairing is a net loss for the Kings (-3.8 points/100 possessions, to be precise). He's a very solid backup big, which is nice to have, but it's a luxury, not a core piece.

Do I think the Kings should "ship him out" just for fun? By all means, no. But I'm not so confident the Kings can "cash in on Ben" as you are. To upgrade SG, they will likely need to use surplus from another position. But from where? Many here say point guard, but with Rondo's pending free agency, dealing Collison is foolish, IMO. SF? Trading Rudy, maybe, but Casspi is more valuable to the Kings than others. PF? Good luck. That leaves us with the center position...
It wasn't directed at you but everyone wanting to dump Koufos like a hot potato.

Stretch 4s, while nice are overrated in the small ball era simply because there is not enough of great size to go around. Cousins and WCS for any coach with any adaptability and defensive backbone would make the twin towers that would give fits to other teams. Memphis seems to do a pretty good job without much of a stretch 4.

There are not many stretch 4s out there that I would be willing to burn Koufos for. Forget the woosy system that we are running now. That is not what we will be implementing next season and this coach will not be our coach next season. Koufos is on an incredibly good deal for a genuine big who could be a starter on many teams especially if considering the rise in salary cap going forward. If you want your stretch 4, you can get a decent one for MLE type money. There are a number of solid stretch 4s out there that can give you 15-20 minutes a game if you needs them.

I prefer to lock down the middle and block the paint for 48 minutes and the trio that we have, in the right system and with the non-senile coach can absolutely do that for us. WCS is not strong enough to bang with the big Cs in the league just yet and will need 2 good years get some genuine mass and strength into that wiry frame.

Tony Snell? I'm a bit outraged! He's the worse version of McLemore with none of the ceiling...

He's so bad. Their defenses are probably =. If we all think McLemore is passive, let me tell you about Snell.

He's a guy I'd trade Curry+2nd round pick for.

ryan anderson is available and actively shopped, though it will be George's dream come true soley pushing the pace and playing to outscore teams and i doubt we play much defense if we acquire him with WCS most likely losing his starting spot.

I know both Orlando and the Clippers have been open to dealing. After what the Clippers offered the Nuggets and Orlando got for Harris lets see if we can ring the door bell and get a handful of candy.

Kings in - Blake Griffin, Lance Stephenson, Cole Aldrich, Victor Oladipo, and Mario Hezonja.
Kings out - Rudy Gay, Marco Belinelli, Darren Collison, Kosta Koufos, Ben Mclemore and Eric Moreland.

Clippers in - Rudy Gay, Marco Belinelli, Darren Collison, Aaron Gordon, Andrew Nicholson.
Clippers out - Blake Griffin, Lance Stephenson, Cole Aldrich, J.J Redick, and Wesley Johnson.

Orlando in - Kosta Koufos, J.J. Redick, Ben Mclemore, Wesley Johnson, Eric Moreland, and Clip 2016 1st
Orlando out - Victor Oladipo, Mario Hezonja, Aaron Gordon, Andrew Nicholson

Let me stop you right here.

Orlando has already said that they will not be trading away any of their "core pieces" - included among these are Oladipo, Hezonja, and Gordon - for anything other than an unexpected offer that blows them away. I feel very confident in saying that Koufos, Redick, McLemore, various detritus, and a mid-20s pick is NOT going to blow them away enough to trade ONE of their core pieces, much less THREE.

Rumours are the Pacers were trying to move George Hill and the Pistons want a back up Pg

So

Kings get: Marcus Morris (expandable with Stanley Johnson and Harris there), George Hill, Monta
Pistons get: DC and Solomon Hill
Pacers get: Rudy/ Rondo
(If Detroit wants Ben they can have him if they don't want to do the current deal)

Kings
Cousins
WCS
Morris
Monta (leading Pacers in assists he's changed his game a lot)
Hill

The worst defender there is Ellis and he's probably better than anyone in our current starting line up not named WCS/cuz

Based on reports there are 3 teams that I can see us doing deadline deals with: Bulls (Noah, Snell, Mirotic, McDermott), Pelicans (Anderson, Gee), Cavs (Shumpert, Mozgov). The common denominator seems to be a stretch 4 and a perimeter defender.

If Vlade is indeed trying to make it work with Karl doing this would make sense:

1) Offer Gay for R. Anderson and Gee to the Pelicans again. Reportedly the Pelicans refused to this trade earlier in the season, but when they realisize they won't get what they hoped for in talks with other teams for Anderson they may change their opinion

2) Trade Koufos and/ or Mclemore for Shumpert.

This gives us a potential starting line up of:
Rondo
Shumpert
Gee
Anderson
Cousins

with Willy, Casspi and Collison getting 20-25 min of the bench to give Karl more flexibility. Perimeter defense should be much improved and it makes it easier for Karl to play Boogie in the post.

Not sure if I want to do that though.
