Shots fired (post-Nets)

Honest question, if Corliss was made interim, do you see a net negative in wins & losses by the end of the year?
This year is probably lost. Unlikely you're going to install a better defense this late but hopefully they finally lay the groundwork for a better future

Or maybe they'll go full kings are trade cuz for a bunch of small ballers

If we fire Karl mid-season we're going to tank... I see no reason to even try to be competitive with a new coach at helm. Good chances are, the players won't magically be able to learn the scheme...they don't even know how to play the scheme they're in now.

The last crap we should be doing is trying to get into the playoffs with barely .400, ending up 10th seed, and losing our pick.

@CarmichaelDave right before the Super Bowl? That is what I am thinking.

I think tomorrow. Corliss coaches vs Boston. That's my bet
I've given Karl a lot of lee-way here...but am I the only one feeling like he's just not healthy enough to coach? Health-wise. I don't know how to say it the best way...but it seems like he just doesn't have that same aggression as a coach he did 10 years ago. I think his health has been a big factor for him this year.

He also slurs a lot of his words now. Lots of pauses and gaps between each one.

If we really want to let him go...I hope it's a resignation from Karl.

We've got some guys who've been around for awhile now. Not just Sacramento but a lot of veterans. Basketball isn't the most complex thing around.

I'm not so sure it would doom us as far as making an attempt to turn us around for just this season.

I do have my problems with Karl like his lineups and substitutions and minute distribution, but defense is also effort and Cuz has been particularly lazy on pick and roll defense lately. Also, not everyone is giving full effort on the defensive end lately. I really want to see what's going on behind the scenes

I'm trying to keep this thread for discussion/news about what appears to be the possible replacement of George Karl. Things keep breaking, and we could be in for an interesting 24 hours.

I of course see one speculative radio host and a lot of speculative fans. It makes sense. But when does this franchise do things that make sense? Think I'll wait for Woj. :)
I don't think Woj will break it this time. He doesn't have PDA to give him the secret phone call. ;)

I don't know what Corliss' philosophy is as a coach but if he changes the defensive scheme, slows down the pace and plays Cousins out of the post for most of the game I think we could actually still make the playoffs. Again, I am assuming that Corliss is a decent coach that knows what he is doing albeit somewhat inexperienced

I'm a firm believer that enough time has passed to be a decent judge on whether the FO wants Karl around long term by now. With that said, as far as wins/losses are concerned I'm not convinced we lose more replacing Karl.

But we are not likely to find an experienced coach willing to step in right away and completely restructure everything from scratch.

But Corliss has been around Sacramento for awhile, he was brutish as a player.

I can't see our defense getting any worse, he's got Rondo to run things offensively so no need to micro manage offensively.

We've got that Corbin history that deflated us last time, obviously its more complicated than just being Corbin. But with some of our veterans, I don't think it would be as bad as it was before if we made the change.

There were whispers that Corliss coached one of our best games during the 5-game streak (I'd have to go back and check the game threads, because I think I mentioned it).

Corliss is very well thought of by the players, the front office, etc. He also has the bonus of being a former Kings player who was beloved by the fans. He knows defense and he won a Sixth Man of the Year Award AND a ring with the Detroit Pistons, a team renowned for defense.
