I'm still not overly concerned about who starts. I am only concerned with who shows the heart, hustle, energy and effort. I want to see those things from tip off to final buzzer. If that happens, we might actually not be blown out of our own arena.

That's a real bummer. I thought our coach would at least want to keep the advantage we had, but instead we matched up our #1 option tonight against a great defender and are allowing their #1 option a night off defensively by having to guard a player that didn't even play in the NBA last year.

We essentially matched their "style" of lineup with weaker talent:

Rondo = Lawson
Anderson <<< Harden
Belinelli < Thornton (wouldn't say this normally, but going by how they have been playing lately)
Gay > Ariza (judging by how Gay plays against Ariza, I'm tempted to change this to an equal sign)
Koufos > Capela

Gay has played 3 games against Ariza in a Kings uniform. This is what he has averaged per 36:

.35 FG% / .17 3PT% / .82 FT% / 13.8 PPG / 5.9 RPG / 4.3 APG / 2.0 SPG / 0.3 BPG / 4.3 TOPG

I don't understand why Karl would not like to start off the game with a mismatch. Does he not want to make the game too easy for his guys? Does he want to punish them for how they have played the last 2 games? We better hope Anderson, Belinelli, & Gay have the hot hand tonight or it could be a long one...

Going small against a team that is miles ahead of us in terms of small ball talent and sucess, great tactical coaching.

We wont win until we go big, with small bursts of midget ball here n there, we dont have a talented small ball lineup plain and simple, this is a half court play tough d get to the free throw line type team, anyone but karl can see it!

Honestly...

George talks about how our defense was to blame last game and he comes out again with a weak defensive starting unit. I don't understand.

I'm pretty discouraged by Karl thus far. I still believe we'll win more games than last year, but I think I'm most discouraged by the system and the style this team is playing. I don't think this system/style will ever get us to a place where we can call ourselves a strong playoff team. Sure it's nice if we get to 45 wins, but what's the point if that's the highest win total we'll ever get to?

If you don't build a system that fits your talent and if you don't play to your strengths, you're limiting the potential of your team. Plain and simple...

Seems to me Karl just tells the media and fans what they actually want to hear and then in the process continues his Nellie ball antics.
