It's interesting to me how there seems to be two camps of reactions to moves like this. I think it's a basic difference in life philosophy. I won't try to convert you to mine. But the way I see it, you can't draw up all plans before hand because the landscape changes so frequently, and there's always risk that an unforseen event might occur (injury, etc.). What this does give us are two basic currencies: money, the most obvious one. But also power: the ability to go after who we want. Just because Matthews chose Dallas doesn't mean we've lost that power. There are still plenty of other impact players we can sign.
My guess is once Rondo signs, all the sudden we become a more attractive place to play.
