Kings trade JT, Nik and Landry to Sixers (renamed)

Aww crap, I loved Stauskas, but I know he'll thrive in Philly. He'll most likely be their starting SG.

Will miss JT too.

Even with all this said, hell yea! We making some moves!!!

This is the type of move that can swing the fortunes of a franchise around in a hurry. We're not looking to hit a single or take the BB. We're swinging for the fences baby.

Few things this move says to me:

1. We have a ton of confidence in Moreland and WCS to be major contributors next season. No matter how much small-ball we play with Rudy at the 4, they're bigs #2 and #3 on the roster right now. And with our cap space linked to perimeter guys, it's not looking like we're in a hurry to find rotational bigs to take JT and Landry's place. So Summer League just became really important to see where these two guys are at in their development.

2. We all but have one of our FA targets locked up. I doubt we pull the trigger here without a verbal committment or at least an extremely strong leaning from someone that they're signing with us. There's no way we do this deal and walk away with nobody. None chance.

Guys, we just gave up a future first round pick, last year's first round pick + swap on TWO picks of their choice (hopefully expires soon) just to clear salary to sign players who might not even come here.
That is what has me worried too. The conditions and details of those picks will be very important.

Your juvenile stance would carry more weight if you knew what we've secured for the created cap space, yet you don't as it hasn't happened yet.

An intelligent person would wait to see both ends of a deal before evaluating. If we're a playoff team, that pick means far less, compadre.

As it stands, this is a brilliant first step from Vlade. We'll have to see what he does with the cap space but we just became a major player in free agency when a few hours ago we had scraps.
If it was just one future pick, I wouldn't be so worried. But now we owe 2 future first round picks to different teams AND rights to swap in 2 different drafts. So we don't have control over our own picks and no longer can use them to pick up talent at say, the trade deadline. Our assets right now bare to none.

Everyone calm down. This came out of absolutely NOWHERE which does a lot to show that the leaks in THIS front office have indeed been plugged. Second, it makes me really think there is more going on that we just don't know about. I could very well be wrong, but I for one am completely behind this move.
I agree with the sentiment. But I don't see it absolutely out of nowhere as one week ago Vlade explicitly said that something great was going to happen soon - well, it's now happened. Kings fans will now have to wait a bit longer to see how great all this turns out to be.

We gave up a very solid third big, a bad contract, sg prospect, draft pick and swaps for cap space and maybe an international prospect? Could they really make that bold of a move without a verbal commitment from the replacements? I hope not

Wait what? 76ers have rights to swap with US, we do not have the right to swap with THEM.
Ahhh I didn't see that detail.. I though it was something like they had to choose the year (before the lottery or whatever) and then of course they finish crappy and we're giving them our 20th or so pick for their 5th.. OK.. So that's not good then..

Our assets are the ability to write a check now. Maybe we gave Rondo that 10M and then did this on the back end.

If we suck more than them they swap spots with us in the lottery. This only matters if this all just implodes and we end up being worse than the Sixers at some point. Will surely happen, but not any time soon.

The thing is there is nothing left. Wes Matthews for 15M/Yr coming off achilies surgery? Team killing Rajon Rondo? Ugh... This team.. I swear.

Oh a deal like this BETTER freaking come with certainty that you're getting the guys you want. No 2nd options, all 1st options. If they honestly are thinking Rondo and Ellis is even a 2nd option.... I scared. I very scared.

What do you mean there's nothing left? What would you have spent the money on that's signed already? That would actually come here?

Danny Green? Not leaving SA.

Kawhi and Butler? No chance

Love? No chance

Brook or Milsap? Very little chance and no need

Carroll? great, but not at that price-tag

Knight? See Carroll

Thad? Noooo

Dragic? Not coming here.

Everyone who we would have had a shot at when FA kicked off is still on the board.

But my hope is there is an expiration date on the swaps. What if they hold it for a decade for one and then after Boogie retires for the other? That is why I want to see the details before I get really excited.
