He would be a welcome sight as a 6th man, not as a little chucker who cant hit a 3 and would clog the lane.

I've found Dave on periscope right now to be quite interesting.
Says again, going of what he tweeted earlier that fans don't recognize how much internal conflict is going on with Kings right now.
Fully supported Vlade but also asked/expressed concern over input Karl has.
Whatever it is he heard earlier today which we haven't heard yet, it seems to be hanging over his head, hanging over the situation.

I like the idea of win-now but I will not be at ease until it becomes official that the space has become players who have signed contracts. Remember that Houston made big moves to get Bosh and he signed with Miami.

I'm loving this move so much. It has the potential to finally take us out of the Western Conference dumpster. I'm very excited and optimistic right now.
Now if we end up not being able to convince good players to come here, this move could turn out to be a bad one. We had to make a move though, a bold one, as previously stated by others.

It's not the personnel, it's that they absolutely have us by the balls with another first round that we lose, with swaps on TWO years. That's 3 first round picks that we do not have full control over. That's a hell of a lot for 15M salary dump. We don't even get rights to Saric?

According to a Pilly forum, we are getting the rights to Vasilije Micic, a Serbian PG/21 years old. Plays in a very good league/team in Bayern Munich in Germany (his team played in Euroleague). Some potential there.

So we just mortgaged our the rest of the decade's draft picks for a chance to sign a busted Wes Matthews and a declining Rajon Rondo?
I love that we got rid of underperforming vets at the 4, and I never liked the Stauskas pick (boo'd it live at the draft!) - but I feel we gave up way to much here for a chance to overpay two vets and maybe they sign and maybe they bounce back and maybe they perform well and get us into the first round. But how long does that longshot of a possibility last? One, two years of first round playoff exits? And after then, no assets to rebuild?
Unless we use this cap space to get creative with trades and not just two FAs, we might have screwed ourselves out of legitimate contention until the next decade.

The draft got us our coveted shot blocker so it's a two way street...there isn't only one way to build a winner.

@sam_amick: The Kings, flush with all this costly new cap room, pushing hard for Wes Matthews. As I'd reported, he wants $15 mil per & may be more now.

Yeah. I'm extremely uneasy with this. We're going to have to recoup some draft picks somehow down the road. There are only 2 rounds in an NBA draft. You could argue that there is really only 1 that matters. You can't be a small market and remove yourself from the draft for 2 years and potentially up to 4 years. An injured Wes and a one year deal on a washed up Rondo is the gamble? I really hope not. Because when their careers start winding down in 2 to 3 years, THAT is when we start to decline and those picks become due.
I feel like we just bought a house with an adjustable rate balloon mortgage.

I think an extra 2-3 million per year more just for the dysfunction he would be coming to.

So we ditched a solid big on a decent contract and gave up on ANOTHER draft miss pick and our end game is either replicating the god awful Rondo/Ellis back court, because, you know....That worked SOOOOOO well for Dallas. OR we are going to grossly overpay someone who just had a potentially career altering injury?!
Ugh.
I want Vlade to succeed (obviously), and will happily eat crow if we land some great FAs because of this deal..... But right now it is looking like a very shaky roll of the dice. Even if we DO land our targets, we are still gambling on them actually translating into Ws.
The fact that we are going hard after Rondo and Ellis, two players that we have been going hard after well before **** hit the fan with PDA, well before Vlade, makes me wonder if this is The Irritant striking again.

Even if we didn't end up signing anyone good this year we could sign a bunch of one year deals and then have at it next year.
ALSO, teams LOVE trading players to teams who can absorb salary, so if we don't sign someone we would be a VERY attractive trade partner.
It's win/win. JT/Landry and Nik weren't going to win us anything. We need to get rid of the clutter in order to make an overhaul of the bench.
I can't believe that people want to have the same team as last year + WCS. We would be back at 25-30 wins. We need to change the culture here and bringing in fresh blood while keeping our core will hopefully do the trick.
Do you think Vlade does this move unless he's confident we're going to at least get one of the guys we're after?
