Why would Divac say no way with such conviction? He admitted teams were calling, he admitted the two need to come together and work it out. Cuz just posted on Twitter 40 minutes ago he absolutely wants to be a king. If we are to believe Woj then we are outright calling Divac AND Cousins liars. Plain and simple.
My guess is Cuz does want to be here, but in no way wants to play for Karl. He let that be known before Karl was hired, PDA even reportedly told him Karl wouldn't be a good fit for him, and the concerns from Cuz's camp have proven to be largely true. Karl has said little when a mic is in front of him which portrays being committed to Cuz and wanting to have a good relationship with him.
So it's a choice, either fire Karl or Cuz is going to force his way out through Fegan. I'd also say Cuz saying he wants to stay is him trying to publicly force Vlade/Vivek to make that decision on Karl. Vlade says he wants him here, Cuz says he wants to be here. Trade him and you look bad. And since Vlade/Vivek haven't fired Karl yet, Fegan is working on moving Cuz with his blessing up until Karl is gone.
And this again, all comes back to Vivek. He's either going to correct this swiftly or make yet another drastic mistake.

I'm listening to ESPN LA right now and they've been talking about the rumor of Cousins to Lakers BS all show.
They are saying the Kings want everything for Boogie (#2, clarkson, randle, future picks). Lakers supposedly don't want to give up randle at all and are hesitate about giving up Clarkson. If that's where the teams are, nothing will get done.
If true, Vlade is asking for everything. Basically a lopsided deal is required in order to part with Cuz. That's exactly what he should ask for, if he did exchange frameworks.
There is no way Lakers will give up #2, randle, Clarkson & future picks. So its dead.
No,. Woj can do this precisely because it doesn't come back to bite him. Fegan is no doubt a major source, so Fegan asks him to turn up the heat on the Kings/Boogie, and Woj can say they are talking. Now Boogie doesn't end up getting traded, well from Woj's perspective, so what? Doesn't mean they weren't talking right?
What Woj wouldn't do is say Boogie WILL be traded tommorow, or some such, then that can be proven wrong. But "talking", "exchanging proposals", who's going to know/be able to prove that wrong?
And yes, if you add it up you could therefore add Woj Fegan and quite possibly Karl as all people pouring pressure onto Vlade. Many non-friends of the franchise. The thing is, and I've tried to explain this to people before, but pressure is largely an illusion. Nobody has any power here whatsoever except for Vlade (so long as he controls Vivek's ear). Everybody else is a helpless little maggot he can step on at will. He holds all the cards. The pressure will make you panic and forget that, but in the end aside form being annoyed at the gnats making up stories, there really is not a damn thing any of the parties not named Vlade can do if Vlade wants to keep Boogie. Hopefully in his long and varied career Vlade has come to realize stuff like that. When you have the final power, you don't let any lesser being browbeat you out of it. he shuold call up Fegan and ask him if he wants a job swabbing the toilets at the new Golden One.

Something will happen this offseason. If we are exploring options with Cousins, then the decision has been made. It's Karl over Cousins. What happened to working things out? Such childish behavior from everyone. "Oh I don't like Karl I refuse to play for you because I don't like the coach so trade me right away to one of these preferred teams." And then there is George "no one is untradeable" Karl, single handidly tearing apart our team. Someone needs to be honest, I don't care who. At this point even Slamson would suffice.

I've always been in the side of proven player vs potential. I'll take Allstar over a draft pick that can bust, Randle who slid and NBA games played to season ending injury ratio is horrible, and clarkson who outplayed his draft spot but wasnt exactly a star until lakers loaded up the team with d leaguers. If lakers prize those assets over dmc, great. I want to keep our Allstar on our team anyways.
Woj isn't saying that Cousins will be traded. Woj is reporting that the two sides are talking. That's a completely entire different thing.

I think Cousin's agent is leaking the talks. Lakers probably calling Kings, Vlade saying give me everything and the kitchen sink. Lakers saying no. No deal is close but "Lakers Kings building framework for trade" continues the narrative that favors Fegan's agenda. Agents are squirmy little weasels, something we know all too well.
