Faried is almost impossible to trade until after the season. Only teams with cap space to take his contract can trade for him since he just signed an extension off his rookie deal.

I'd trade Collison, Stauskas, and Sessions for Ty Lawson no hesitation at all. It was a good run Collison.

He is, but I doubt I'd want him for what he would cost because Lawson would represent Stupid George Karl. Meaning, Lawson is a midget and only capable of playing in a racing up and down system. Meanwhile our franchise guy is a giant postup center. You acquire Lawson, which I imagine our pace gerbil would love to do, he might almost force you to run for the 2-3 years until his midget body begins to lose half a step of quickness and he declines. I'm still hopeful we will eventually get reasonable versatile George Karl, and not paceboy Karl from Denver. Bringing in Lawson would almost force hi hand back into that flashy empty nonsense style.

Lawson plays smaller while Collison plays bigger. I guess that's the best way of putting it lol

Faried has skills, but he's not much of a passer or shooter, and he has a huge contract. Not for me.

Lawson would be great, but we don't have the assets to get him.

I wouldn't mind having Faried if it means that we could deal or thin out our PF cluster. Lawson is nice but its going to cost us to many assets...not enough of an upgrade at the PG spot for me. If our team was rolling in young assets then maybe that is a deal that could be made for a Lawson.

I would take Faried.

Is he overpaid? Probably. Certainly less so once the cap goes up, but I also think that kind of player will never be dead money. He may always be overpaid, but he's not going to be a guy you can't play. He works so hard, and he plays so hard that his contract doesn't turn me off as much as it could.

He's not a good defender, but he doesn't have to be a bad one. He has the athleticism and motor to defend certain scenarios effectively, and he and Cousins would absolutely destroy teams on the glass.

He'll also run in transition on both offense and defense, which is not a strength of Couisns'. Not a knock on DeMarcus, I don't necessarily want him expending too much energy in those situations, anyway.

I don't know if I view Faried as a long-term PF solution, but I do think he's an upgrade. He's a different look. It's an option worth exploring, that's all.

Not all that interested in Faried... But Lawson is intriguing. In todays game it is almost essential to have a dynamic PG especially when paired with a big man like Cuz. I don't know if Lawson fits the bill and checks all the boxes but he is a good PG. It's not all that easy to acquire a good PG. I would much rather have Dragic but I wouldn't complain with Lawson.

it would cost an arm and a leg to acquire either one of those so I wouldn't waste all of my assets towards either one of those players, and I am a big Lawson fan but he is just too small and he doesn't defend at all so I'd rather stick with Darren.

No doubt, that Faried would be an upgrade. His energy, hustle and athleticism is what this team needs. He has all the tools to be a decent defender too.

Would Faried - Cousins combo work? I'm thinking more like a stretch 4 would compliment Cousin's low post play. Not sure how good is Faried's mid range jumper but he does have a high motor and runs the break really well.

I'd put defense and spacing as much higher needs for the team. Unfortunately faried doesn't bring either. Right now he's a very rich mans Reggie Evans.

Why couldn't Lawson play in a half-court system a la Mike Conley? I see no reason why he can't.

May not be the defender Conley is but I don't think he is a liability
