All Star game - watching Boogie

#31
After Marc Gasol went coast to coast and dunked the ball, Webber gets his Kings cred revoked for agreeing with Reggie's list of only 3 centers who have a great handle with the basketball: both Gasol brothers and Noah.

Anyone notice the obvious omission?
When mentioning centers who have the handle to go coast to coast, wouldn't the poster boy for doing so (DMC) be a glaring omission?
Especially when he's going to be on the court soon?
It's not like he's persona non grata and can;t be discussed because he was omitted (though they tried to again this year, injuries not cooperating).
Yeah I notice that too. Wth, webber?

My only question is how will Boogie react to this group, and his small role?

Will he defer and be nice guy, or will he come in like a beast and try to push people out of his way to get the missed shots?
(Of course, the long shot would have to miss, AND bounce his direction, so it would take some luck, but) He could make a name for scooping up rebounds and getting powerful put-backs.

Reggie Miller and CWebb with typical laughing-stock Kings joke. "Yeah (Reggie said) I think they've gone through about 8 coaches of late." "Two in last week (CWebb)." They both giggle, all of it after Cousins scored his first All-Star hoop.

I don't tend to pay any attention to these games so I'm not sure, but is this even more garbage than usual? Painful to watch..

It might help if Demarcus didn't feed right into everyone's preconceived notions of him being "lazy" by actually moving faster than a walk pace on the court.

He might be more involved in the plays, too, if he didn't stand behind the backboard, actually stepping off the court though noone's pushing him....

This is rather a disappointment - I thought Demarcus had learned more about self-promotion than this pathetic display.

I think this game is such a joke that I cant really fault DMC for any of that. Just a bunch of tiny guards running around and jacking up shots.

Why does it matter what people think of him? All that matters is we have Karl/DMC/Rudy.

I think you might be going slightly overboard. This is obviously a "no one cares" type of game where you throw up junk, many times that being a guard shooting a 35' three pointer. It is also his first All-Star appearance (and first stint) and maybe he doesn't want to step on any toes or try to show off too much. No one is really running super hard, majority of the time there are at least 2 players cherry picking.

sigh, Cuz or not, I am done watching this again. I just can't fathom why anybody watches these things at all. It almost offends me. Its not basketball. Its just garbage.
It's pretty much a joke actually no better than almost eliminated NFL Pro-Bowl and that's saying a lot. MBL and NHL do it right by making it competitive, fairly no nonsense. Maybe NBA could have prize $50K to each player on winning team or some such. Or like MBL with their award of World Series home field to victor in that all star game. 200 pts for winning team street ball team tonight - ugh!
