Barring that, Greg Popovich's protege, Mike Malone.
I'm still skeeved. Malone has a 20 year NBA head coaching career ahead of him, with someone. I wanted the stability that brings to an organization. Look at what the Jazz had with Sloan, Spurs and Pop. These teams contended every single year.
We may end up with George Karl, and that would be not the worst thing. But he's only got 5 years max in him. And then Boogie and whatever crew we have assembled have to readjust to a whole new coach.
I'm still shocked. And I don't buy for a second that this was "part of the plan".
I'm one of the guys that was impressed with Vivek and even his progressive management philosophies, but his catch phrases have worn thin, and it really feels condescending now. Have the decency to speak to your fans like real people, and not use some completely plastic leadership jargon meant for a ****ing TED talk.
Say what you want about Cuban, and that he likes to stick his nose in the whole operation, but Cuban doesn't condescend. He does have original ideas. He speaks them, he may even try them on his team. But Cuban is not afflicted with the megalomanical nerd complex. I guess that's the difference between a nerd and a geek. Cuban's a geek. Vivek is displaying shades of the megalomanical nerd.
