I have been thinking this way. What if they run with Corbin to the end of the year and make the playoffs as good as 6th or 7th. Anyway, some finish that is seen as a great success. We are all full of suspicions but maybe this would keep Corbin as HC. Karl is near retirement age. That isn't ideal.

If you look at this whole situation without suspicion, it doesn't look very bad.

I thoroughly believe the relationship between Malone and PDA and probably Mullin ended with verbal fireworks. I think that fits the facts as well as anything. I DID say facts.

The scenario depends on whether Ranadive is a real businessman or batguano crazy.
Team making the playoffs with Tyrone Corbin would be the worst nightmare for the 3 musketeers. It would be another PR nightmare for them if they sack him after making the playoffs but they can't go ahead with him as he is not really their guy.

As much as I love Željko, he is not an NBA coach. A HOF european coach but not NBA. NBA is a very different game compared to european basketball.
You could say the same thing about the European players couldn't you? More and more of them are coming over and finding success, why not the coaches?

Players are different. They get their roles and they fit in those role. European players generally are fundamentally strong so they find their role in the league.

Coaching is again different. There is no role that he picks and succeeds in it, he needs to do it all and command respect from his players. NBA coaching is in good part about managing egos where as European style of coaching is mor dictatorial. Next time Željko unleashes on someone like Cousins is the last time he does it. Željko is a strong willed and "my way or the highway" type of coach which works really well in europe as its an accepted practice. In the NBA that does not work as well.

That makes sense, I don't know much about European hoop. Speaking of coaches, I just read this tweet from Vivek.

Unless any of the coaching candidates can beat Chris Mullin in our annual training camp three point shoot-out, we will have to hire Chris.

Obviously a joke but stiiillll makes me a little uneasy.

No batguamo, Batman.

The truth is that Malone could have finished just as well.

One thing I WOULD fully expect from Mullin as a head coach is rapid development from Stauskas. While Mullin was MUCH more polished and acclaimed coming out of St Johns, they share quite a few similarities at the same stage of their careers.

In fact, I think it would really just be a two step process for Mully to get huge results out of Nik.

Step 1. Get Flat top
Step 2. Go to All-Star Game
