Josh Smith?

I dont know if Smith would be the best fit for the Kings.
The guy we should be targeting IMO is Draymond Green (whos a F/A after this year)..
He reminds me of a bigger Ron Artest that can guard every position.
This! and with the way hes playing golden state wont be able to afford him unless they want to get into luxury tax territory. He is a relentless defender with the ability to space the floor with cuz when we go small.

Josh Smith nonsense..Why would we mess up what we have to get someone like Josh Smith? Can anyone seriously tell me why? Maybe if we started 0-5.. but we're 4-1 and playing good basketball. It's not like Cuz doesn't already dominate on offense.

Other names to keep an eye on are Milsap/Hilford. Milsap will be a free agent so if the hawks don't feel like they can resign him ( defiantly if there not top 5 at the deadline) they'd trade him for something. Holford was quietly offered for an unprotected pick last year. I'd give JT/DWill/Ben for thabo/milsap and I'd be willing to give Nik/Ben/JT for Holford.

Kings don't need to get more offense at the expense of defense, so no on Millsap, "hell, yeah!" on Horford (with a concern for his health though).

Woah, lol what? Nik/Ben/JT for Horford? Thabo as our starting SG? Thabo, the same guy who couldn't step up with the injuries to OKC? Same guy who couldn't score for OKC at all? I think he was benched for a few games against the Spurs, despite him supposedly being a good defensive player.

I think we'd be giving up too much for Horford.

Thabo is a very good wing defender, but his shot comes and goes. If he isn't knocking down shots, then he isn't very useful against the Spurs who do not have dominant wings.

Is more about Holford than thabo and you saverley underrate Holford if you think that's to much for him. Dude would give us 16-9 while spacing the court, shooting 54%, protect the rim, and playing even better defense that JT. He's a real good #2 and he'd be a number 2 here.

I think we should just roll with what we have right now. If it doesn't hold together by Dec, then I'd love that trade. I'm just really confident in JT and Ben. I don't know if I'd be so quick to give up Nik either. He could become a beast learning behind Krover, but I'd want him to flourish here, not in ATL.

We're seeing more evidence this year of why I said last year that I'd consider trading Landry to get Josh Smith but not Jason Thompson.

Yes, JT whines to the refs. Yes, JT complains about touches and offensive opportunities. Yes, JT seemingly wants out of Sacramento. And yes, JT is often maddening with his ineffectiveness when he has the ball in the low block.

None of that trumps this fact - last season (and presumably this one as well) Jason Thompson provided gritty, physical defense against the opposing team's best big so Cousins wouldn't have to. Landry can't do that. Josh Smith certainly can't do that. They can defend CERTAIN guys but would you want either manning up Dwight Howard without help? Because Thompson did exactly that. JT has done a fantastic job on Blake Griffin, LaMarcus Aldridge and Kenneth Faried. Josh Smith brings athleticism, shot blocking, passing and some (often poor) outside shooting. Landry has historically been a dependable scorer off the bench. Neither is a physical defender.

At this point I don't think I'd trade anybody for Josh Smith given how good the Kings have looked and how poor Smith has looked, but even if the Kings were 0-5 I'd still say trading away Thompson for JSmoove would be a huge mistake.

Ya we will wait nba trades don't start till mid December anyway I'd do an ATl trade in February. I love Ben/JT too but I think Holford would make us contenders.

The unprotected 1st (after the red tape of course) & JT for Horford and that's my final offer.
We don't got the pick and I love Ben but if they demand him and Nik id still do it but we should get Korver from them. Holford is literally perfect next to DMC/Gay. He's playing out of position I just can't imagine what happens to him next to a center who commands double teams.

Horford would be a great choice, but what does it take to get him? Atlanta isn't exactly looking to start from scratch and in a weak east they are a solid team. Sure we have JT to offer but what else does it take? They don't really need Ben or Nik.

Dude if according to that poster they wouldn't want Nik/Ben which I belive id false why in the world they do that deal.
They have Korver and are a playoff team that doesn't need young developing talent. I could be wrong obviously and if they accept that then great. Stranger things have happened I just have a hard time believing that JT and Ben is all it takes for them to give up a huge piece of their core.

For Holford or millsap?

I think Milsap can be had if it's Ben/JT and we get thabo. If they are outside top 6 by February which is highly likely they will have to decide if millsap will walk for a better situation. JT plays center for them and that's what holford a been begging for and Ben gives them youth at SG.

For Holford if they out him on the block that means they will tank I want young talent. Nik/Ben provide that.

Why would we want Milsap? He doesn't bring what we need. If I can pry anyone from Atlanta its Horford and Korver. I also don't want Thabo his offense makes him a liability. My hope would be that Atlanta loves Milsap so much I can grab Horford.

Milsap rebounds, defends and has extended his range out to the 3 pt line last season. He might be slightly undersized, but he is quick on his feet and a quick jumper. If he could play like last season, he would be a huge upgrade over JT.

Millsap is a free agent at the end of the year though. If he's available at the trade deadline it's because Atlanta is already out of the playoff chase (hard to imagine in the Eastern conference) and I would hope this current front office isn't dumb enough to repeat the "our top 10 pick for your expiring contracts" deal that capped off Petrie's tenure as GM.

So you wouldn't do it if we are 500 at the deadline and 6 games back from the 8 seed. Millsap would thrive with open shots here and free up DMC/Gay and hopefully by the Ben. I don't think he leaves if he comes here and we finish 9th as long as we pay him. No doubt in my mind we would be in play for the 8 seed if we got millsap.

But you habe Tod keep in mind, that Horford seems Tod have some injurie problems.
But it doesnt really matter, who wie aquire via trade or free agency. Guys like Ed Davis, Jordan Hill, Amir Johnson would be an upgrade for us. Not to speak of PF with some serious Talent like Horford, Millsap or Green.
Wie could swap Jt for almost every other Starter at his Position and some reserves and still end up with an improved Team.
If you think about it, it's pretty difficult to name Teams that have a weaker Starter Art the 4 Ethan the Kings.

I really hope PDA/malone are willing to trade Landry. That's the only way id want Smith I wouldn't trade JT for him at this point and a front court if DMC/Smith/JT is elite. Something like Landry/DWill/Nik for smith then do our trade exception for Jodi Meeks.
