I think the Kings need JTs defense against opposing starting PFs but having him off the bench would at least mean a full sized backup center. Hopefully there's a trade this season for quality PF.

And Ben needs to be benched and/or traded. The light might come on for him at some point but the Kings can't be in a positioning of relying on him.

So far, I don't have that many complaints. I actually like that PDA expressed confidence in the guys. I've seen actual defense being played at times. The guys in black look like they actually know each other and aren't just a bunch of guys who found a box of jerseys. This game is leaps and bounds better than opening night.

As they show the retired jerseys, I'm reminded of one of the things that really made me smile. I may have mentioned it before but the Monarchs WNBA championship banner and Ruthie Bolton's jersey are back in the rafters at STA. I'm hoping that's the sign that the Monarchs will be returning sooner rather than later.

I've been pretty happy with Collison's play on both ends of the floor. One thing I think he could do better is to occasionally call for plays to get Cousins the ball down low. We went a pretty long stretch without Cousins touching the ball much in scoring opportunities, and you could see him getting a little lazy running the floor. The best point guards know how to keep their guys engaged.

Not a bad first half. Solid defensive effort and I will never complain about effort. Some miscues to be sure, but it's only the second game. I wish we could get Cousins some easy plays down low.. a couple of dunks or something. The big guy works for every point and should be rewarded.

Satisfactory first half. Not perfect by any means, but lots of positives. Since there will not be a baseball distraction to contend with in the third quarter, things could go a lot better.

My only negatives today are our SGs.. Nik and Ben both 0-3 each. They need to play a lot better. I honestly think whoever emerges first, will get the start for the remainder of the year.

The Kings need a shooting camp for the guards! Been very impressed with the defense, especially from Collison. That guy fights screens, like, fights screens.

The Kings are 0-4 from three. With all the emphasis the Kings FO put on acquiring shooters ... I mean, they drafted Nik, but 9 minutes of his shooting on the bench unit isn't going to fix the teams inability to spread the floor. Rudy Gay isn't even attempting threes anymore. That might be a good thing in the long run, but that starting unit serious lacks a deep threat.

I'd love to see the Monarchs back in time to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the championship, but the W is still a few years away from being able to support another expansion.

I think Ben plays with the starters because he is a good defensive guard and we don't need his scoring with Gay and Cuz in there. Nik gives offense to the bench. So I don't think much will change. Both need to start hitting some shots though.

If they don't get production from either SG then I'd say eff it and play Ray there with Collison...short backcourt but they can produce and pressure the ball.

A lot of people here seem to think we need a legit 3pt shooter in the starting lineup. I like Ben's D this season.
