Because it's a horrible line-up with less than zero floor spacing. It has negative floor spacing.
It wouldn't work. too many personalities, too many egos, too many people wanting ball.
I have to disagree with you.
Rondo would bring the ball up, looking for his teammates. If there is one pass first PG in the league than it's him.
Stauskas (probably) doesn't need a ton of shots of be effective. Knock down the open jumper and run a few pick and rolls with big cuz.
Gay and boogie still 15-20 shots a game.
And then there's Josh Smith who's the only one you'd have to convince to take less shots than last seasons with Detroit. But with that kind of line up, I'm very optimistic he would agree
But okay, that's up for debate
Remember that the main rotation would only consist of 7 guys that you want to take shots because the other guys are just fillers.
And keep in mind that Rudy and Josh Smith are friends with Rondo, so chemistry and ego might not be as big as an issue as you think it would be
Neither do I think that floor spacing would be that big of a problem. All 5 guys are able to knock down the open jumper so you have to at least put a defender on each of them. Even if Josh Smith has a horrible shot chart, for him it's more about shot selection than about shooting per se. If you get him to buy in the system, I'm sure it would work. But that's just my opinion
